On the last Hari Raya Holiday Weekend, The Cathay Singapore presented the first ever two-day barbershop and tattoo studio pop up featuring gentlemen cuts by Hounds of the Baskervilles and mystery tattoos by Gimmelove Tattoo.
The clean shaven corporate look have gave ways to man-buns or neatly shaved hair waxed in precision, neatly groomed facial hair and tattoos, a sign of revival industrial masculinity look partly driven by the tech, creative and artistic community.
Shoppers at the Cathay spent a mere $50 on their shopping purchases and received a complimentary hair-cut/ styling or shave by HOTB or a 6cm X 6cm mystery tattoo by GML.
I had my first dapper look set by Jaspal a veteran with Hounds of the Baskervilles. I must confess the look did make me feel younger (and it was unsettling in the beginning 🙂 ) since it was starkly different from the usual hairstyle I am used to. I really appreciate the whole experience as a whole.
Shoppers also took dressing lessons from BB Tailors- the tailoring arm of home grown Menswear Benjamin Barker at their exclusive workshops in the Assembly Store on top of the brand’s recent collection.
