Woohoo~~ Organic Tea brand, Pukka Herbs, has launched new range of wellness teas! Known for its 100% organically grown and ethically sourced ingredients with 100% recyclable packaging, I am very excited when I get to know that 5 tea blends will be added to the current selection that are available in major supermarkets.
The kind folks from Pukka Herbs has also arranged an Apoteacary workshop with Cynthea, the founder of Super Farmers for us to learn more about the health benefits of different herbs as well as how to mix the herbs to yield the maximum benefits of the plant.
Cynthea shared that Chamomile has an calming and uplifting effect while Manuka Honey has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. A tea blend of chamomile with blue butterfly pea flower would be great for your eyes. Under Pukka Herbs wellness tea, there is also a Pukka Organic Chamomile, Vanilla & Manuka Honey which is good for you to calm your mind and relax after a long day.
Lemongrass is good to relieve bloatedness while ginger is loaded with antioxidants and aid digestion. When these 2 power ingredients are combined, it helps to nourish and rejuvenate our mind and body. Pukka Herbs Lemongrass & Ginger also has Lemon Verbena essential oil added which helps to clarify our senses, reduce stress, and uplift the mood.
Ginger, Turmeric and Galangal are known to stimulate circulation, boost energy, aid digestion and provide anti-bacterial protection. Cynthea also shared that by adding a pinch of crushed black pepper to this 3 ginger tea, it will magnify their health benefits by 2000 times. Amazing isn’t it?
One of my favourite homemade tea is honey ginger tea with lemon which has heaps of health benefits which include combating a cold, soothes a sore throat and relieves menstrual cramps. Hence, I am so excited to know that my favourite tea is now available in Pukka Herbs Lemon Ginger & Manuka Honey teabags which I can conveniently prepared any time any day.
Cynthea shared that licorice is good for to treat ulcers and aid digestion. When it is blended with peppermint, it is a very powerful digestive blend. Thus, this is definitely going to be my to go to tea in the evening to help me digest and sooth the stomach from a big meal. I like that it has a sweet aftertaste which make it very enjoyable in my honest opinion.
During the Apoteacary workshop with Cynthea at Super Farmers, we also get to concoct our own tea using the fresh herbs from the herb garden as well as dried herbs of which some are dehydrated by Cynthea. She has shared that lemon zest has uplifting effect and we can be easily dry at home in the oven with low heat for half an hour. She has also shared tips like making lemongrass with pandan tea with boiling water and let it cool down to room temperature before putting in the fridge as a refreshing quencher which aids in digestion and detox. Can’t wait to brew more tea at home with Pukka Tea and my new acquired knowledge on herbs!
