Sponsored Review: Glomax Aesthetics – The Face Artistry at Clarke Quay

Many people have asked me about my secret on having a good complexion and looking younger than I truly am (no prizes for guessing my age :p). To be frank, I attributed 60% to the genes as my mother who is in her 60s looks as if she is only 50+. The other 40%, I attributed it to several following factors –
  • Starting my basic daily skincare regime at the age of 17
  • Drinking chinese herbal soups e.g ba zhen soup
  • Regular facial

Most people have basic skincare regime, but I also understand that drinking herbal soup is not everyone’s cup of tea. For some who feel that basic skincare regime is good enough, my advice is try going for facial over a period of time and feel the difference. A few weeks ago, I was invited to Glomax Aesthetics for facial experience. I wish to highlight that it is non-obligatory for me to do a review unless I feel that it is worth sharing with my readers. So here is it, the review of the facial.

After filling up a form on my particulars and a medical history questionnaire, I was honoured to have Evon, the general manager of Glomax Aesthetics, to go through a skin assessment and consultation session with me. She was very detailed and patient to address my concerns. In the end, it was decided that I will be doing the award winning Luminous Detox Energie Care Treatment (90mins $168) to brighten up my skin and also to treat my congested pores. On top of that, I would also be doing a 45 minutes Bedazzle Eye Treatment (45 mins $120) to treat my dark circles and tired eyes.
After the consultation, I was led to the treatment room and changed into my gown.

As Glomax is located at Soho 2 @ Central, a mixed residential and office building, there is washroom in the unit itself. I also took the chance to take a selfie in the toilet before the treatment started as it is going to be a more than 2 hours facial treatment.

After cleansing, diamond microdermabrasion was done. Diamond microdermabrasion is non invasive and there is a wand tip made of natural diamond chips which polishes the skin and removes dead cells. The dead skin cells were then vacuumed back into a waste filter which worked in a gentle sucking motion around the face and neck areas.

At the end of the diamond microdermabrasion, my beautician showed me this which is supposed to be the waste filter. I was horrified to find out that despite my weekly routine of scrubbing my face and monthly facial routine, this is how much dead skin cells that I have. At this point of time, I am even more convinced that facial is an essential routine for good skin health. With all the dead skin cells built up on our skin, it is hard for any skincare product to penetrate into our deeper epidermis tissue. Thus any amount of product that we apply would go down the drain.

Unlike the usual procedure of steaming to prepare the skin for any manual extraction, there is no steaming. Instead, a handheld sonic machine is used to vibrate the dirt off the skin, preparing the skin for any manual extraction. This is the amount of blackheads that “vibrated” off my face. lol
After the manual extraction, a potent cocktail of Hyaluronic acid, highly concentrated
anti-ageing Epidermal Growth Factor and luxurious ingredients such as Caviar and Algae was applied using the sonic cleansing machine. The vibration from the sonic machine acts like a massager around the eyes area to relax the muscles that caused us to look tired and speed up lymphatic drainage.  This treatment helps to reduce the appearance of eye bags, fine lines, soften wrinkles and increase the skin radiance if done on a regular basis.
The whole eye treatment was very relaxing and comfortable. I was wishing for more when the treatment ended.
After that, a high frequency machine is used to prepare my skin for the customised cocktails of vitamins to be applied followed by a mask. This step is essential as it kills bacteria after manual extraction and improved absorption of skin care products. It also enhances blood circulation and improved lymphatic drainage.

Depending on different skin type, ‘Energie Care’’s cocktail of vitamins have something to cater to different needs. Besides whitening, there are cocktails for  Anti-aging, Anti-oxidant, Acne/Oily and Sensitive. For me (sensitive skin), a customised cocktail of Chammomile extract, Pentacalmin and ST complex is applied to my face before a mask is put onto my face. Don’t I look like one of the peeps in the movie “Avatar”? lol

Immediately after facial
Tada~~~ this is how I look without make up after the facial. #nofilter #noedit okies. My skin looks brighter and noticeably smoother. Although extraction was done but redness was almost non existence. My eyes definitely don’t look tired anymore. It is as if they are finally rested from enough sleep.
3 days after facial
This is another picture of me after 3 days from the facial at Tott‘s new outlet in Suntec. My skin is luminous and make up can be easily applied on. My eyes are clear and bright. The fine lines around my eyes are less visible and I can say bye bye to panda eyes (at least for now). Thank you Glomax Aesthetics for pampering my face.
Good news for my readers, you can now enjoy a full session of  90 minutes Luminous Detox Energie Care Facial @ $88 (usual price: $168) and/or a full session of  45 minutes Bedazzle Eye Treatment $88 (usual price: $120) when you quote “HANNAH” while making appointment.
