My friends alway said that I have a restless soul and traveling is the only way to keep me grounded. But like any regular Singaporean, I am not born with a diamond or golden spoon in my mouth. Hence, staycation is one of my way to unwind when I am not traveling. With Capri by Fraser, China Square finally open its door recently, it is the perfect excuse to do another staycation. So here are 10 reasons why we will come back again.
1. Location Location Location
IMHO location is the king and that is why I feel that Capri by Fraser, China Square is blessed with good location. It is located in the heart of the CBD and it is a stone throw away from Chinatown, Clarke Quay and even Garden By the Bay is just a few train stops away. So Capri by Fraser, China Square is perfect for both business and leisure travellers. For people like me who like to do staycation in Singapore, the hotel is surrounded with heaps of good food!!!!
2. Hassle-free Check in
One thing that I really appreciate while having a staycation is a hotel with ample of parking space. During my stay, finding parking was a breeze and there is a lift that connects the carpark and the hotel. Oh yes, the checking in process was done in a blink of eyes too and I also like how one can find little nostalgic Singaporean snacks such as Ice Gem Biscuits, Haw Flakes, Spectacle chocolate..etc at the little drawers at the hotel reception.
3. Well equipped Gym
Let’s talk about the amenities first. More than often, I find that the gym is one facility that is under-utilised. But if you are staying at Capri by Fraser, China Square, it is a must to visit the gym even if you are not any fitspo. Open 24/7, there is no excuse not to visit this fully equipped Gym that even has installed a Pavigym’s PRAMA interactive fitness platform to enhance your training experience.
4. 24/7 Launderette
When I was in Taiwan, I was super impressed by how their business hotel has this DIY laundry service. Capri by Fraser, China Square took it a step further with a 24/7 Spin and Play. Yup, the self service laundry service is available in this hotel. Best of all, a wash only cost set you back by $10 and drying service at $5. There are also Atari Pong and PlayStation 4 to keep you entertained while waiting for the laundry to be done.
5. Rooftop Swimming Pool
To be honest, Rooftop Swimming Pool wasn’t the biggest draw for me. But the underwater music is definitely a concept that will interest me. As it was the time of the month, hence I didn’t get to use the pool. I will make a mental note to do so next time.
6. Shower service X locker service
Though it is not very much applicable for local guests but I love the idea of the shower service as well as the locker service available for guests who have checked out for the day. More than often, the flight home might be many hours check out and it is hard to find a place to laze around and enjoy the last league of the holiday. Capri by Fraser, China Square has this sort. One can enjoy the pool or go to the gym and even have a shower after checking out.
7. Instagram worthy spots
Taking pictures for memory sake or even to post on instagram is something very common these days. Capri by Fraser, China Square will not disappoint you on this as the hotel is built with many photo-worthy designs and artwork around the hotel residence.
8. Water Filter!!!
Our weather is getting hotter and hotter. This is no joke ok. Global warming is real and I am glad that Capri by Fraser, China Square is reducing plastic waste by providing premium filtered water. Not to worry, there are also 2 bottles of water provided daily as well. Another of the hotel’s effort to reduce carbon footprint is to equip the hotel rooms with smart room control units, that will raise the in room temperature to 25 Degree Celsius when the room is vacant, to reduce energy consumption.
9. Well equipped room
I kid you not, the rooms are well equipped. When I travel, I often opt for AIRBNB as I like to have the flexibility to cook. The kitchenette has everything you need to wok up a feast! From cooker hood, hob, microwave, mini-fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, pots and pans and even crockery! Basic facilities such as in-room safe (fits up to 17” laptop), iron and ironing board, kickass hair dryer, bathrobe and bedroom slippers are also provided. Oh yes, ample of power points as well as USB points are huge huge bonus!
10. Spacious room
While the Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms have a floor area of 26 sqm, the Studio Deluxe and Studio Executive rooms are 29 sqm. The difference are basically the bathtub, cooker hood, hob and more walking space. The room that I was staying this time round was the Studio Executive room. It was really perfect for a lovebird getaway. I also like the Malin+Goetz toiletries as they smell really great. Best of all, they came in those huge dispensers so I don’t need to worry that they will be running out halfway through my shower.
One of the perks of staying at Executive or Studio Executive room is the exclusive access to The Den! This is like a little heaven of its own where one can access to a range of board and card games, enjoy some snacks, drinks (including beers) and even some food or just get some work done with the free Wi-Fi.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Capri by Fraser, China Square as the bed was comfy and it is conveniently located near everything. During my stay, I have even hopped over the Chinatown Point to get some snacks from Daiso and Fairprice as well as to get my bubble tea craving fixed!
