Who doesn’t like a meal with a view? But sometimes such combination might not be the most friendly to our wallet. Good news for everyone who is suffering from Monday Blues after a great recharge from the weekend, Zafferano, Singapore’s highest Italian restaurant, is launching a one-dish luncheon at $19! Sounds really good, right?
On a rotating basis, 3 pastas will be featured every Monday with a social media post to inform the public the pasta of the day! Pappa al Pomodoro is a Tuscan bread and tomato soup dish but at Zafferano, it is pimped up to serve with a poached egg and crispy bacon. I have no complain with this combination as the richness from the egg yolk gave the dish a slightly more creamy texture while the crispy bacon added some bites to this tangy yet comforting meal.
Cheese loving people shouldn’t miss the Rigatoni Cacio & Pepe! The al dente rigatoni pasta was beautifully coated with roman sheep cheese and pepper. While one might think that sheep cheese might smell a bit gamey but I kid you not, the Rigatoni Cacio & Pepe from Zafferano tasted nothing of that sort. It was pleasantly sharp with a distinct savory note and a lovely peppery kick! Oh yes, don’t forget to eat it while it is hot!
Gnocchi ragout alla bolognese is another item on the rotating Monday Express Lunch which was flavoursome and hearty! I like the texture of the house-made potatoes Italian dumplings which was so soft that it will literally melt in your mouth.
For $19, I got a luncheon at level 43 with a view of the CBD skyline and caught up with a friend, I thought it was a great way to fight Monday Blues. With Chef Emanuele Faggi onboard Zafferano, I am definitely excited to be back again. Chef Emanuele Faggi has not only a rich culinary experience under his belt , which includes his early training in L’Albereta Resort under the guidance of celebrated Chef Gualtiero Marchesi, the two-Michelin-starred Cracco Ristorante by famed Chef Carlo Cracco, Gaia Ristorante & Bar, Piazza San Marco, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant under Alajmo group, he was also a chef-owner of Opera in San Miniato. Over the years, Chef Faggi has won silver medals in 1st Italian Champion and in the 8th Competitive National Fair of Cooking. Very impressive, isn’t it? Who is with me to start Monday right with an express yet uncompromising lunch?
