Woohoo.. Weekend is here again. What do you like to do on your weekend? Are you a fan of those cute Japanese bakes? Good news is making those cute edibles is not just a far fetched dream.
Featured in the very talented homecook Shirley (aka Little Miss Bento)’s 3rd new book, Kawaii Sweet Treats are simple step by step recipes!
In the book, you will be able to find recipes from cute pastries to lovable cookies and even adorable steamed buns!
If you think that these are really difficult recipes, trust me, they are not!
During the media preview of Kawaii Sweet Treats, the media has our hands on 2 of the recipes.
When I said media, it means males and females. Within an hour, we tried 2 recipes! It was quite surreal for most of us as we were always under the impression that it is simply too difficult and too much effort to make those stuff!
Using simple ingredients such as green tea power, flour, butter, sugar, egg and oreo biscuits, we made some really delicious Oreo Matcha cupcakes.
While the cupcakes were baking, Shirley continued to guide us on the making of Bunny Momoyama Wagashi!
It was not as difficult as I thought and I have even make 2 little piglets instead as J is born in the year of pig. hahahaha
If people like us without much culinary experiences can do it, I am sure you can too! Happening this afternoon (22 Oct 2016) at 2pm in Ngee Ann City (aka Takashimaya) Kinokuniya Book Store, Shirley (aka Little Miss Bento) will be launching her 3rd new book, Kawaii Sweet Treats. Not only will you get to meet this talented young lady, you can also get to see her demonstrate some delightful desserts and pastry recipes. So don’t miss the book launch and signing event ah.
Kawaii Sweet Treats will be available at all major bookstores in Singapore and in Malaysia from Nov 2016 onwards. With more than 30 recipes (cookies, snacks, cakes, tarts and pudding) using many aromatic tea flavours such as matcha, houjicha and earl grey, I can foresee a ball of fantastic bonding time in the kitchen! For more information, you can also hop on to Little Miss Bento’s website. Woohoo~~
