Specialising in Indian, Malay and Arab cuisines, this Halal certified buffet restaurant, The Landmark, inside the Village Hotel in Bugis is popular with the local Muslim community as well as Middle Eastern travelers alike for their well spread fare which also comes with a very affordable price tag. To top it off, complimentary drinks are also free-flow.

I first head off for the pitas with hummus and babaghanus to fill my share. They are my favourite. I brushed off the last dollop. The Landmark’s briyani, gobi curry and tandoori were specially handmade by a team of dedicated Indian cooks, so they are as authentic as they can get. If you come here at 6pm, you might even witness how they make the naans and roast the tandoori chicken live from behind the glass screen.

The spicy daging, stir fried clams and chili flower crab were great local additions and went comfortably well with my fragrant briyani basmati. It was so good I made a few more rounds.
Landmark-3
As I took a break from my cold shrimps and mussels I went out to catch a glimpse of the imposing Sultan Mosque and the beautiful Arab street precinct from the restaurant’s balcony for the evening sunset. The gentle breeze made everything seemed more serene and the food I had felt appropriate in its grandeur.

I made sure I saved space for the huge dessert table, especially with all the enticing Malay kueh kuehs.
Landmark-5
Saffron lovers also should not miss the dessert rasmalai, made of Indian semolina and paneer in a saffron milk broth. The briny finish was unmistakably pleasing but I thought I would save space for the ultimate green bean soup
Landmark-6
The green bean soup, cooked in Gula Melaka and served with thick coconut milk was delightful. The generous amount of sago made every mouthful enjoyable and fun. And with that I concluded my lovely evening dinner. You can now make your table reservation through Chope.
