One of my Malaysian friend ever share with me that going for staycation is a very Singaporean thing. I can’t help but to agree with her. Unlike our friends from neighbouring countries, we can’t travel from one state to another so where else can we travel to (Jurong to Changi or Woodlands to Labrador Park?), right? Lol. Hence, I love staycation too! Recently, I just went for a staycation at Bay Hotel!
Bay Hotel, a 4 star hotel, located a stone throw away from many amenities. The 333-room boutique hotel is conveniently located near Mrt station, Seah Im Hawker Centre and shopping Malls ( Vivo city and HarbourFront). So getting about is not an issue and plus point for people playing Pokemon go, there are many Pokestops nearby. However, having a room facing the highway is not my idea of having a good night rest. J was awaken by the noise at 5am though we were staying on the 10th floor.
Although the hotel looks quite compact from the outside, I was rather surprised to find the room adequately equipped. Besides a well stocked complimentary mini bar, there is a safe to keep your valuables and a hair dryer to dry your hair too.
One of J’s checklist for any hotel is bathrobe and bedroom slippers. Well, I guess she was happy that Bay Hotel provided these in the room too.
Bathroom and toilet was separated but nothing too cramped. Maybe just not big enough to have 2 person comfortably showering in it. But wait, at least there is a hand shower and a rain shower. So not too bad and hangers are provided if you need to have any clothes hanged.
The vanity area shared the same space as where the hot water flask is but I am ok with it. As my main concern is always the bed and the pillow. Can I also share that I am a huge fan for big mirror. Better for me to look at while applying my skincare and doing my makeup.
There are also ample of power points available. Yes, say no to low batt crisis!
The bed was comfy and fluffy but I can do with more pillow support. Major love for the television. I think it is comparatively big as those in Marina Bay Sands. I love the idea of being a potato crouch with my favourite snacks! hehehe
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Bay Hotel. Although the room is not huge, it is adequate for a fuss free stay for a night or 2. For light sleepers, I would suggest to request for rooms facing the greenery instead of the flyover. Although, it is not the best hotel in town, from $208++ you get daily breakfast for 2 persons, Hot Pot Dinner for 2 persons in STREET 50 Restaurant, complimentary minibar (replenished once daily) and free wifi access, I I think it quite affordable for its location. Have you stayed at Bay Hotel? Share with me about your thought of Bay Hotel.
