Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is known for its Cantonese delicacies and it has launched the Exquisite Dim Sum Artistry which is available for lunch from 1 to 31 March 2021. Thereafter, in the month of April, eel lovers will be delighted to know that Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant will be showcasing a menu using salt water white eel and fresh water yellow eel.
In the month of March, Dim Sum holds centre stage during the lunch hour at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant. Think an elevated version of Siew Mai and jian dui aka deep fried sesame balls.
Steamed Crab Meat & Chinese Sausage Siew Mai ($4 ++per piece, Min. 2 pieces) is an unique rendition as compare to a regular siew mai with glutinous rice as the base.
The avocado in Deep-fried Vermicelli Prawn Roll with Avocado ($3.50 ++per piece, Min. 2 pieces) gives the prawn roll an added layer of creamy smooth texture. So if you enjoy layers of textural bite, don’t miss this.
I am never a fan of banana but the banana in ++Scallop with Banana Dumpling Spring Roll ($4 per piece, Min. 2 pieces) does not overpower the scallop and in fact it is so subtle yet bringing out the natural sweetness of the scallop.

Personally I like Deep Fried Chinese Chives Iberico Pork Glutinous Dumpling ($3++per piece, Min. 2 pieces) as it has a chewy texture with iberico pork char siew fillings.
Other Dim Sum are available only in the month of March include Deep-Fried Chinese Chives Iberico Pork Glutinous Dumpling ($3++ per piece); Steamed Squid Ink Dumpling with Tobiko ($3.30++ per piece); Steamed Rice Dumpling with Dace Fish in Superior Light Soya Sauce ($6.80++ per portion); Purple Sweet Potato Custard Layer Cake ($2.50++ per piece); Chilled Red Bean with Coconut Cheese Cake ($10++ per portion).
Do you know that eel is a superfood that is not only commonly found in Japanese cuisine, it is also a treasured delicacy found in traditional Chinese cuisine in China.
In the month of April, fans of eel can get to try dishes using salt water white eel and fresh water yellow eel that is prepared with aged-old Cantonese recipes as well as bespoke Cantonese cooking methods. Soup lovers should definitely try Poached White Eel with Premium Chinese Wine in Superior Soup ($58++ per portion) which is served piping hot and packed with all the nutrients to nourish the body as well as the soul.
With twice the amount of fat as compared to yellow eel, Steamed Whole White Eel with Black Garlic Sauce is so soft, tender and the black garlic sauce is so flavoursome that some of my dining partners are literally licking the plate clean.
Other dishes to look forward to include Braised White Eel with Abalone Sauce & Fish Paste Skin ($68++ per portion) as well as Braised Yellow Eel with Morel Mushroom ($25++ per serving); Crispy Yellow Eel with Szechuan Honey Sauce ($25++ per serving); Wok-Fried Yellow Eel with Garlic & Mao Tai Chinese Wine ($35++ per serving); Wok-Fried Yellow Eel with Black Bean Sauce in Stone Pot ($28++ per serving).
