Morton’s The Steakhouse, more than just steaks

I love cocktails and I am particular with the balance of every alcoholic concoction that I drink. Hence, bartenders alway have a headache when I asked for a bespoke cocktail. However, never have I once go behind the bar till I went to Morton’s The Steakhouse and met its lead bartender – Mark.

Morton’s The Steakhouse is located on the 4th Storey of Mandarin Oriental and that evening, we tried 3 MORtinis- Lychee, Apple and Chocolate while Mark guided us through the steps of making each of them.

It might seem easy with every ingredients measured and poured into the shaker, I assured you it was not as simple as it looked. In fact, each of us ended up with a cocktail that was slightly different than each other. The art of cocktail making is more than just measure, pour, stir and shake. It is about the precision, the way you shake/ stir the concoction and the presentation. Every single component makes a difference. After this express MORtinis making session, I have since developed a new found appreciation for good cocktail and admiration for the ones behind the bar.

Good news for all lovers of cocktail! How does happy hours at Morton’s The Steakhouse sounds to you? Morton’s The Steakhouse is not just a destination for steaks, you can enjoy selected Mortinis from 5pm to 7pm at S$15.95 each (U.P: $29++)! Do try the Chocolate Mortinis if you like something sweet, rich and sinful, else just let your hair down and enjoy that generous 3oz helping of gin and vodka in the mortinis.

Oh yes, not to forget those delectable bar bites! With those Morton’s steak sarnies going around, it is hard not to enjoy your night! If you are not a beef eater, one of my personal favourite is definitely the Chicken Goujonettes! Moist and juicy with a crispy golden shell in bite sizes! These are best to pair with the Mortinis, don’t forget to order these babies!
