What is a Christmas without logcakes right? Conrad has launched 3 logcakes that are available for takeaways – Chendol Gula Melaka Yule Log, Briolette Pistachio and Cassis Bitter Sweet Chocolate Yule Log. There are also mini versions that are available as part of the festive afternoon tea that is served at the Lobby Lounge. One of my fav got to be the Briolette Pistachio with Lemon Mascarpone Yule Log. The yule log consists of Raspberry and blueberry Jelly, Pistachio sponge, Lemon Mascarpone mousse, Vanilla Crumble Base which is encased with a purple glaze. This is definitely a crowd winner with a balanced of sweetness and tanginess.

With everyone crazy over Frozen, Goodwood Park Hotel’s dazzling Crystal Glacier Log Cake ($82 nett for 1kg) is bounded to garner heaps of wow and love from both adults and kids. This dazzling cake is glazed with white chocolate, bejewelled with crystal like sweets and crowned with pastel milk chocolate shards. Within it is almond sponge layered with mascarpone, apple mousse and lingonberries, with a milk chocolate hazelnut fudge base.

I have never thought that Foie Gras that is presented as a savoury-sweet treat would leave me the impression the way the Foie Gras Classique that is found in the Christmas Exclusive Petits Fours Sampler ($68) from Windowsill Pies would, smooth and balanced with a subtle yet noticeable aroma of the foie gras. Can’t say that I love it but it is addictive enough for me to reach out for another one. The Petits Fours Sampler has 5 festive sweet treats and there are 25 pieces in a box containing Foie Gras Classique, Pêche à la Crème, Tarte au Citron, Plaisir Sucrée and Tarte au Pistache. This is definitely a good idea for potluck party where one can have more than 1 choice of sweets. If not, the Whimsical Pies–TA “Signature 10” ($68/0 is also another good choice as it contains 10 assorted slices of Windowsill Pies’s all times favourites. In the spirit of giving, Windowsill Pies will be contributing 5% of its total Christmas sales proceeds from their Signature 10’s, Petits Fours and Christmas bundles in both in-store and online to Angel Hearts.
