Whisky lovers, please ki chiu! Ok, to be specific there are 3 types of whiskies available at the Whisky Sunday Brunch at J65 Hotel Jen Tanglin. Isn’t it a perfect way to welcome Monday by ending the weekend on a high?
Besides seafood on ice, there are a good variety of salad and well as cold cuts, local delights and even Indian cuisine. Some of the note worthy dishes include Singapore Chilli Crab, Seafood Thermidor, Kueh Pie Tee, Rojak and many others.
For diners who prefer a more interactive dining experience, you can even watch the chefs in action as they prepare dishes such as oyster eggs, carrot cake, and Singapore Laksa. Oh yes, the Singapore Laksa is a live live must try item here. Pimp up your laksa like mine by adding lobsters from the seafood on ice section and you will get a bowl of atas laksa! You can also get your preferred cut of meat and create your own roasted meats platter here.
Carnivore like me will also be able to savour a good selection of meat from Slow Roast Beef Striploin with Roasted Potatoes, Whole Baked Norwegian Salmon, Honey Baked Ham to Roaster Turkey. Since Christmas is just around the corner, I thought that the whisky brunch is a great idea to feast together!
To be honest, this is the first time I went to a Whisky Brunch. Can I just share how elated I was when I saw the selection of whisky available?
Besides Jim Beam Highball (you get to choose from Mint, Cassis and Raspberry), there are Chita and Suntory Kakubin. Did I mention that the whisky is free-flow!!! If you prefer something with light spiciness and notes of honey, cinnamon and peppercorn, try the Kakubin whisky. I prefer Chiata though as I find it more delicate and has a more gentle finish.
To end on a sweet note, do head over to the dessert section where there are cakes, local kuehs as well as chocolate fondue!
With a price tag of $88 per person, free flow whiskey and a wide variety on the buffet spread, I thought that Whisky Sunday Brunch at J65 in Hotel Jen Tanglin is value for money. With Christmas gathering going on, isn’t this a perfect place to feast and drink at the same time? Oh yes, remember to leave your car at home, don’t drink and drive, okies?
