As we are living in a concrete jungle, one is always looking for an escapade to somewehere with a beautiful lush of greenery and lovely sunsets. The newly opened Dusk Restaurant & Bar at Faber Peak is one of such unique hilltop restaurants in Singapore where patrons can chill out over European Tapas, choice wines and Nitro-frosted cocktails.
Dusk Restaurant and Bar is located 100m above sea level. Hence one can enjoy splendid sunsets as well as fireworks with a panoramic views of Harbourfront and Sentosa Island.
The restaurant has an alfresco-dining garden section, which seats 40 persons and a sheltered section can hold up to 80 pax. The menu is designed for sharing with prices start at $10 for tapas and $19 for entrées. If you like something creamy, don’t forget to order Foie Gras Au Gratin where the flame-seared duck foie gras are served on crunchy baguette slices with truffle balsamic pearls. I like how the acidity of the truffle balsamic pearls cut through the foie gras and give the dish a better balance.
Beef Cheek with Port Wine Demi Glaze was one of the favourite around the table. I love how my teeth sank into those tender beef chunks that were slowcooked in port wine reduction for 8 hours. So moist and so flavourful that I craved for more though I promised myself to cut on red meat. lol
Forest Mushrooms with Sherry was a great choice for mushroom lovers with the mushrooms in season sauteed in rich Sherry cream sauce.
Another crowd pleaser was the Citrus Fremantle Octopus which was first sous vide for 4 hours before grilled to give it the smoky char. Served with citrus oil, salmon roe, vine baby Pomodoro tomatoes and arugula, it has different layers of flavours which I thought one serving is never enough.
For a group of 3 or more, Twilight Platter was a good option as it includes Oven-roasted half Spring Chicken, Beer-infused Bratwurst, Mild Italian Sausage, Parma Caesar Salad, Crunchy New Potatoes and Corn on Cob.
If you prefer to have a main on your own, Tiger Prawn Capellini was made of a reasonable portion that will keep you full yet not overwhelming overeat. Lying on a bed of sautéed angel hair pasta was juicy and succulent giant tiger prawns and the pasta was tossed with aromatic lobster-infused oil to give it an extra flavour.
Lovers of beef should not miss the Côte de Boeuf which have garnered unanimous approval from everyone. The 700g prime beef was good for sharing and we like how it was char-grilled to perfection.
A meal is never completed without dessert so do leave some space for them. Some of the choices are like the Flambé Baked Alaska and the Ricotta Cheese Cake which was served with chantilly cream and fresh wild berries. But my favourite was the Warm Basil Soufflé which has a delightful twist as compared to the usual souffle affair.
Happy Hours is happier at Dusk Restaurant & Bar where 12 cocktail concoctions are priced from $15 to $16 each. Best of all, there is 25% OFF Spirits, Wine and Draft Beer from 4 PM to 8 PM daily. Time to make some plans to visit Dusk Restaurant & Bar?
