Antoinette, Singapura Cookie Tin

Have you tried the sweet dessert Yu Sheng? Then you are in for a treat this year with Antoinette’s Golden Egg The Queen’s Yusheng ($88). The Tsars, if they are still alive would be ecstatic to see this golden giant egg filled with chocolate golden ingots, auspicious kois and delicious meringue kisses, among others. The sauce was made with a tangy combination of mandarin orange, plum and gula Melaka. Lo-hei with this sauce has never been this fun.

My favourite of the Spring Collection was the Orh Nee Macaron ($3 each and $19 for a box of 6). 3-4 years ago, Antoinette owner and founder Chef Pang did a mooncake version of the middle crust macaron, with one salted yolk encrusted by lotus paste. This time, the candied pumpkin core was surrounded by Orh-Nee paste with a tinge of fragrant coconut cream and the result was equally delightful. It remains two of my favourite macaron flavours till this day.

For those who crave for more Orh Nee this CNY, one can try the Orh Nee Cake ($10/ individual size, $45 whole cake) from Antoinette. Made from fresh yam and pumpkin, the cake was filled with generous layers of yam mousse, yam cake, gula Melaka, fried shallots and pumpkin cremeux. So the balance between sweet and savoury were well taken care of here. A crunchy almond crunch completes this magnificent creation that would easily satisfy both my grandmother and my baby niece.

If you are going away this CNY or want to present a CNY goodie set to your third auntie or sixth grandmother, the Antoinette “Singapura” Cookie Tin Set ($24) would easily set you apart from your other cousins. Made from the finest local ingredients, I love all the 6 flavours equally: Curry & Cheese cookies, Spiced Salted Egg cookies, Ondeh Ondeh cookies, Kopi Susu cookies, Osmanthus cookies and Haebee Hiam cookies. Now you can stuff their mouth with such goodies and they won’t ask you why you are still single in 2018.
The Saint Honoré Gift Box ($75 for 10 flavours) is a much exquisite gift box which I would reserve for my mom or my grandmom. This premium gift box combines cookies in 10 flavours: Black Sesame, Pineapple, Almond Shortbread, Orange Hazelnut Sablé, Matcha, Pork Floss Meringue, Haebee Hiam, Ondeh Ondeh, Spiced Salted Egg and Kopi Susu.

Just a tip of the ice berg, Antoinette has many many more yummy CNY goodies on offer.
