A Lunar Spring of Ambrosial Abundance at Spice Brasserie

Chinese New Year is just around the corner and I can hear the sound of children’s chattering happily everywhere. I bet everyone is feeling excited with the Chinese New Year break where we can relax and enjoy a few days of good food, new outfits and the New Year Mood.

Speaking of buffet, Nonya Seafood Buffet at Spice Brasserie is one of the option for your consideration. Some of the popular dishes on the buffet line are such as Live Prawn Assam Pedas, Steamed Seabass Fillet with Nonya Sauce, Peranakan Chicken Buah Keluak, Spring Onion Steamed Crab, Crispy Fried Sotong with Sweet & Spicy Tamarind Sauce, Crispy Oyster with Teriyaki,  Limpet Abalone Congee, as well as freshly cooked Pumpkin Cuba Lobster simmered in a hot claypot.

Diners who book for dinner on 15, 16 or 17 February, priced at $88++, will get to enjoy a Lucky Fortune Set comprising five prosperity-enhancing platters (one set per table): Salmon Yu Sheng, Braised Abalone with Duck Feet, Braised Cucumber with Roast Pork, Baked Sea Scallop with Mushroom Cheese and Peranakan-style Nanas Lemak Cuba Lobster.

Starting with the ever-auspicious Salmon Yusheng where everyone would toss to greater joy, hope and blessings for the new year ahead.

Followed by the very tasty starter of Baked Sea Scallop with Mushroom Cheese. The Scallop was big and juicy, topped with lot of mushroom cheese to make it very filling appetizer.

Braised Abalone with Duck Feet was a nice surprise. My first time tasted Duck Feet and they were interesting. I like the sides, the Pak Choy together with the braised Abalone, which were flavourful.

Peranakan-style Nanas Lemak Cuba Lobster was a crowd pleaser. I like how the lobsters were soaked in the Peranakan curry sauce with the pineapple slices which I found yo be both yummy and juicy.

Do save some room for the Traditional Nian Gao with Peanut. This sweet treat really brings back childhood memories and also to end the meal with something sweet and chewy.
