Famous egg tarts and Angel cakes from Johor Bahru have finally landed onto the shores of Singapore. Conveniently located at Bugis Village, just behind the bus stop, it is really kind of hard to miss it. But how do they fare?
Besides the original Lemon and Blueberry Angel cakes which are $9.90 each, there are Oreo and Matcha Red Beans ones which are $10.90 each. Made using pure egg white with lower sugar content, this is one healthy treat for people of all ages. I shared the Oreo one with some fussy folks of mine and they adored them. I guess it couldn’t be too bad since they have been “eating more salt than I have eaten rice”, right.
Most people eat with their eyes first and this cute Tokyo Egg Brulee ($9.90 for 4) would totally capture people’s heart with the dainty presentation. While enjoying this dessert, we were also quite intrigued with the process of making it.
Smaller than the usual egg tart but the bite size 206 layers tart crust and soft custard innards of the 26 Thousands Layers Tarts definitely won the hearts of many. PLEASE eat it while it is hot!!!! Made from Fresh Milk from France, Kampung Egg and touted with pride of no added preservatives, colouring and a single drop water added, it is one of my favorite item. Very addictive loh. There are Original, Coffee and Matcha Red Bean to choose from. Selling at 3 for $5 and 6 for $9. So give Baker’s Ville a try if you are around bugis area. =)
