Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Fiesta is back!

Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Fiesta is back to celebrate its 38 years of serving the much loved durian delights. But this year, it is even better with a new repertoire of innovative durian pastries and perennial favourites to satiate the cravings of all durian fanatics!
Goodwood Park Durian Fiesta-9
From 8 March to 1 August 2021, you can be expecting handcrafted D24 and ‘Mao Shan Wang’ durian pastries with creative renditions of local classic snacks as well as sweet treats. The 2021 collection includes items such as D24 Pandan Waffle Cake, D24 & Sweet Potato in Chestnut Tartlets, D24 Trio Chocolate Cake, Mini D24 Salted Caramel Delights, D24 Kueh Dadar and Deep-Fried D24 in Layered Flaky Pastry. Not forgetting all time favourites such as D24 Mousse Cake, D24 Puff and D24 Crêpe.

The D24 Pandan Waffle Cake $85 nett per cake (7 inch) is one of my favourites for this year Durian Fiesta as it reminded me of that old school local waffles that can be found in local bakeries in Singapore but 200% better. As it has 3 layers of pillow soft waffles with delicious D24 durian pulp. Served with a drizzle of caramelised coconut sauce, gula melaka coconut crumble and coconut flakes, it is a delicious cake which is surprisingly not too jelak even after having a whole slice!
Goodwood Park Durian Fiesta-6
Inspired by Mont Blanc, D24 & Sweet Potato in Chestnut Tartlets ($48 nett for 6 pieces) has the approval of all my fellow dining partners. A rich luscious D24 durian pulp is set atop a chestnut almond cream tart shell and crowned with a beautiful cone of royal purple sweet potato purée vermicelli. While many of us were a tad skeptical with the combination, it turned out to be well balance and with each bite, the sweet potato danced and and entwined with the durian puree, complimenting each other without over shining one another. What a brilliant creation it is! Definitely highly recommended for all sweet potato n durian lovers.
Goodwood Park Durian Fiesta-3
D24 Kueh Dadar ($78 nett for 8 pieces / $22 nett for 2 pieces) is an elevated rendition of the popular South-East Asian
confection. However, I kid you not, do give it a try. The pandan flavoured crepe is so soft and delicate yet skillfully and perilously enveloping a generous serving of D24 durian pulp and freshly grated coconut cooked with gula jawa (aka Indonesia Gula Meleka). As you sink your teeth onto the D24 Kueh Dadar, you can feel the crepe gently breaks through and reveals that velvety D24 durian pulp. The toppings of two types of coconut flakes (fresh, and crunchy crumbles tossed in gula melaka as well as a drizzle of caramel sauce) give it a nice added layer of textural bite. This beautiful dessert is available for takeaway as well as for dining in at Coffee Lounge and L’Espresso.

There are also 2 chocolate durian items available this year, namely the Mini D24 Salted Caramel Delights ($40 nett for 6 pieces) and D24 Trio Chocolate Cake ($128 nett per cake (1.5 kg) / $19 nett per slice).
Goodwood Park Durian Fiesta-4
For those who are planning to dine at Min Jiang, you can also try Deep-Fried D24 in Layered Flaky Pastry ($12++ for 3 pieces) which is exclusively available for dine in only. While I like the flaky golden crust which is crafted with layers of oil and water dough, I am not a fan of the warm D24 durian pulp. However, I do have friends who like it. Do share with me your views on this interesting dessert.
Goodwood Park Durian Fiesta-13
While you are at Goodwood Park for Durian Fiesta, don’t forget to check out Coffee Lounge’s signature Taiwanese Porridge A La Carte Buffet (Mon to Thurs: $38 per adult; $22.80 per child; Fri to Sun, eve of and Public Holiday: $40 per adult; $24 per child). The Deep-fried Pomfret in ‘Feng Sha’ Style, Stir-fried French Beans with Dried Fish, Fried Omelette with Chye Poh and Steamed Minced Pork with Salted Egg Yolk are really good.
Together with the durian fiesta treats, these are also available for delivery and self-collection on https://goodwoodparkhotel.oddle.me/en_SG/. However, do note that 5 days’ advance notice is required for pre-orders for the durian fiesta items. Alternatively you can pre-orders of self-collection orders by calling +65 6730 1786 (from 11am to 7pm) or email to deli@goodwoodparkhotel.com.
