When I am not traveling, one of my favourite activities is to go food hunting. Recently, I have caught on the Afternoon Tea fever. Among the few that I have visited, I have particularly like the Floral Afternoon Tea at One-Ninety Bar which is available over the weekend.
If ambience is the key for you to enjoy a relaxing afternoon away, I got to say that One-Ninety Bar doesn’t disappoint. One can choose from a cosy setting with warm lighting and comfortable seating or you can choose to go alfresco.
Imagine relaxing in the midst of the lush greenery with cushiony seats, this is how it feels like at One-Ninety Bar. While the service crews were worried that we might find outdoor a tad too hot, we like how the resort-style alfresco Terraza of One-Ninety Bar is well ventilated with occasional soft breeze.
Besides a good selection of tea from monogram and gryphon, one can also get to order coffee and even matcha latte which are both included on the Afternoon Tea menu. As a coffee lover, I like how the iced coffee is presented in a syphon coffee maker to prevent the coffee from being too diluted. It is also good to know that the coffee beans are sustainably sourced, 100-percent Arabica beans from Tanzania by Lavazza.
Crafted by Pastry Chef Audrey Yee, a veteran with Four Seasons and graduate of the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School in London, the Afternoon menu includes a medley of sweet collection which includes Yuzu Elderflower Meringue Tart, Candied Violet Macaron, Sakura Blossom Puff with Strawberry, Raspberry-Rose Mousse, Manjari Chocolate Pot de Crème…etc and a selection of finger sandwiches and savouries served on a tri- tier stand.
But that is not all, the Afternoon Tea also includes warm Lavender Scones and Brown Sugar Shortbread served with homemade Strawberry-Rose Preserve and Devonshire Clotted Cream as well as a serving of brioche with cherry compote.
So remember to save some tummy space for the Spinach and Comte Quiche as well as the Turkey Ham with Gruyere Cheese Toast. As a cheese lover, I welcomed these cheesy savouries. In fact, they are one of the highlight for the Floral Afternoon Tea at One-Ninety Bar.
Priced at $46 with a choice of Gryphon teas or Lavazza coffee, I thought the price is reasonable and the service from the peeps at Four Seasons Hotel is beyond awesome. I feel very much at home and welcomed. If you are in for a glass of bubble, it will be $78. The Floral Afternoon Tea at One-Ninety Bar is available on Sat & Sun, 2pm to 5pm. Remember to make your table reservation to avoid disappointment yoz.
