Not sure about you, I have a great love for lush greenery as I always feel that air is fresher whenever I immersed myself in natural settings. Hence, when I heard that One Faber Group is launching Arbora, a new hilltop all-day garden dining concept at Faber Peak, I was super excited. Stay with me as I share more.
Located at where Spuds and Aprons used to be, Arbora can be easily accessed via the cable car from Harbourfront Tower 2 to Mount Faber station. Alternatively you can also drive up. There are free parking at the public carparks near Faber Peak and free valet parking (usual valet parking rate is $6 per vehicle) when diner spend over $60 in a single receipt.
In case you are wondering, Arbora is inspired by the Latino word ‘arbor’ means trees which is totally apt as Arbora is surrounded by over 40 hectares of verdant treetops and a variety of flora and fauna in Mount Faber Park.
Arbora is definitely a family- friendly place as well. Besides the 13 by 3 metre lush foliage feature wall, there is also a koi pond which has attracted quite a lot of attention from the kiddos.
Foodies can also rejoice as the all-day dining menu offers 40 items which include starters (from $8.50), mains (from $18) and desserts ($6) created by Executive Chef Kenny Yeo, a local master chef with more than 30 years of culinary experience under his belt. Oh yes, not to forget that there are also value sets for 2, 4 and 6 pax available and kids’ menu from $8 onward.
Arbora also offers a good variety of beverages, from fresh-pressed juices, craft beers to botanical-inspired cocktails. Time to let down the hair people! The five botanical-inspired cocktails (S$14-S$19) from Arbora are expressed with the usage of fruits, spices and condiment with spirits. Being a gin lover, The Botanic Zest (S$15++) had my heart as the concoction enhanced the citrus flavours from Roku Gin while making it very delightful to have.
I have also tried some of the small batches craft beer from Arbora and I really like the American Pale Ale for its hoppy flavour with mild bitterness. There are also lager and summer ale (all S$12++) available too if you like something lighter. It is good to note that these beers are produced locally with no preservatives.
If today is the day that the blues are getting to you, perhaps it is time to visit Arbora as the restaurant is currently having some opening promotions, offering diners a complimentary snack or salad for any two mains ordered from the menu. On top of that, the signature Arbora craft beers are on a promotional price of S$30++ for 3 bottles (U.P. S$36++). Do check out www.onefabergroup.com/arbora for more details.
