Peeps who are born in the 1980s, please kee chiu (raise up your hands). Think of cassette tapes, arcade game machines, nintendo games, Pacman and not forgetting the clubbing days along Mohamed Sultan Road and Boat Quay. Aren’t these all the lovely memories that a lot of us have? If so, wouldn’t a place that could let us reminisced the good o’ days be great? My dear friends, this is finally made possible at NINETEEN80.
Launched by the team behind entertainment consultancy, A Phat Cat Collective, NINETEEN80 is a retro-themed arcade bar that pays nostalgic tribute to all things 80s. Oh yes, not forgetting the cosy and intimate space along Mohamed Sultan Road and Boat Quay during those clubbing days.
Besides arcade games like bubble puzzle and street fighters, there is a Pacman at the DJ console which changes its colour to the Beats.
NINETEEN80 has also gotten an artwork done by Mojoko which draws inspirations from the iconic arcade games to complement the whole retro vibes.
Clubbing experience is never complete without some alcohol. NINETEEN80 serves some of the most memorable drinks in the 80s with a twist using fresh fruit juices!
Long Island Iced Tea with a subtle cloudy apple twist (S$20 nett, S$70 nett for jug), Blue Lagoon with a yuzu finish (S$18 nett) to NINETEEN80’s original signature cocktails such as the strawberry-based Donna Summer (S$20 nett) with a sprinkle of exotic sumac powder, as well as the rum and Malibu-based Club Tropicana (S$20 nett). Oh yes, Classic Bacardi Breezers are also on the menu at S16 nett.
If you are feeling a little peckish, there are several bar bites available. The pizza is da bomb.
Remembering the ladies night happening on Wednesday? Today is perhaps the day for you to relive the good o’days!
