Nadai Fujisoba Ni-Hachi

If you are still looking for a place for Chinese New Year (CNY) dinner, Nadai Fujisoba Ni-Hachi offers an unconventional menu for your palate. To celebrate Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day), a day on 3rd March every year, exclusively meant to pray for the happiness and good health of girls, this restaurant is also introducing “Girls’ Festival Special Set ($19.80) which is available from 1 February to 31 March 2018.

The Hamaguri soba is accompanied by 2 clams in Moreish soup. Having tasted different soba in different restaurants around Singapore, I have to say Fujisoba offers one of the freshest soba in town! These soba are made in house on a daily basis. The chewy texture of the soba and the plump Japanese imported clams were so comforting and delicious that had me craving for more. You can also customise the broth according to your liking by adding in the Dashi Bonito Soup provided on the table. Personally, I like this initiative as I thought it was a very thoughtful idea.

The set is completed with Chirashi Sushi. The best way to have it is to mix all ingredients together. It was actually quite filling to finish this set, but the unique Yu Sheng by Nadai Fujisoba Ni-Hachi kept me eating non-stop!

Fujisoba Yusheng came with cold and fried soba noodles which sets this apart from traditional Chinese Yusheng. It was a generous medley of salmon, seasoned octopus, seaweed and jelly fish, crab stick strips, shredded eggs and tobiko. The addition of sushi gari (ginger), orange cubes and winter melon strips added refreshing touches to the yusheng while the traditional white and red carrots, purple cabbage, Japanese cucumber and Chinese Crackers completed the whole set with more textural bites. A special sesame sauce was poured to pull all the ingredients together.

At $38.80, this Yusheng was very affordable and I highly recommended this for your consideration this Chinese New Year.
