The Great Thai Feast at Seasonal Tastes

After coming back for a month plus from the Land of Thousands Smiles, I started to crave for thai food again. Hence, me and J went to check out the The Great Thai Feast at Seasonal Tastes at The Westin.

Together with Seasonal Tastes’ Sous Chef Sedtapat Sukpaisanpongsa, Chef Kamonwan Juntarasert and Chef Sittha Sa-Nguansat, a selection of authentic Thai dishes from Isaan, the northeast region of Thailand, can be found on the buffet spread together with the mainstay items. Yes, you will be delighted to find Thai dishes from street food to perennial favorites!

There are several live stations available on the buffet line. One of them is the ‘live’ Som Tam (Papaya Salad) station, where grilled chili and garlic are first pounded with a motar and pestle and added to fish sauce, dried shrimps, tamarind juice, lime juice and peanuts tossed with julienned green papaya.

If you are a noodle person, you can also head over to the ‘live’ noodles station to have a bowl of Kanom Jeen, noodles made from fermented rice and then ladled with your choice of green or red curry. Not to forget to pair with a selection of seafood or chicken slices. If not, there is Kuay Teow Nuaa (Beef Noodles) prepared a la minute, with a rich, comforting broth poured over rice noodles and tender beef slices and beef brisket.
