As our crown of glory plays a very huge part for us to look good and presentable, we have often subjected our hair to dyes, bleaches, and other chemical treatments. Hence, many people actually experience scalp irritation at one point or another. That is why I got to share some amazing products that I have tried from The Body Shop with you.
Somewhere in the mid of last year (if I remember correctly), The Body Shop has added the Ginger Scalp Care Conditioner to the Ginger haircare range. So now the haircare range consist of the Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo as well as the Ginger Scalp Care Conditioner. While the iconic anti-dandruff shampoo which has received so many good reviews from users is made with ginger essential oil from Sri Lanka, birch bark, white willow extracts and Community Trade honey to gently clears loose flakes and soothes the dry scalp without drying the hair, the lightweight Ginger Scalp Care Conditioner is packed with ginger essential oil, birch bark, white willow extracts and Community Trade organic aloe vera to strengthen our tresses and keep it moisturised enough to detangle my hair. There are currently 2 sizes for the both products – 250ml ($15) and 400ml ($20) and this range is suitable for people with sensitive and dry/flaky scalp. Personally, I love ginger so I really like the scent of the products. For J who is not a huge fan of ginger, she finds the ginger scent is very light and pleasant. So it doesn’t bother her at all. Besides the ginger haircare range, The Body Shop actually has a good selection to cater to different needs.
Strawberry Clearly Glossing Shampoo and Strawberry Clearly Glossing Conditioner for dull looking hair to say goodbye to lacklustre looking hair.
Banana Truly Nourishing Shampoo and Banana Truly Nourishing Conditioner for normal to dry hair to nourish the hair with Community Trade organic banana puree from Ecuador.
Fuji Green Tea Refreshingly Purifying Shampoo and Fuji Green Tea Refreshingly Hydrating Conditioner that are enriched with Japanese green tea to cleanse and purify the hair and scalp for normal hair.
Another haircare range that I totally adore is the Shea Butter range which includes the Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Shampoo and the Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Conditioner. I have tried many shea butter products but I find none of them smells as good as the ones in The Body Shop which is made using Community Trade shea butter from Ghana. The This gentle cleansing formula shampoo not only helps to replenish the moisture loss for dry and damaged hair, it leaves the hair smelling full of the nutty goodness while the conditioner makes the hair looks healthier and less frizzy.
Though I often rotate my haircare and skincare products, the Ginger scalp care range and the Shea Butter hair care range are often the ones that I will reach out to if I am looking for a hair pampering session while supporting a good clause of community fair trades.
