On the first Wednesday of the month, I was invited to Barber Shop by Timbre for Strepsils Hits The Right Note Campaign Launch. Since young I have been familiar with Strepsils as it was one of the “sweets” that I was allowed to eat whenever I have a sore throat.
I was elated when I saw my favourite local comedian, Mr Hossan Leong. He was the emcee of the event. Hence I seized the opportunity to take a welfie with him. The event started by him giving a light hearted introduction of Strepsils. In conjunction with the World Voice Day, Strepsils has launched “The Right Note” singing competition to address the importance and need for a healthy voice among all Singapore residents and to support local talents.
I was also very blessed to witness the homegrown turned international recording artiste, Ms Olivia Ong performing live on the song, You and Me. It is one of the song from the album, Olivia that was released in 2010. As the Strepsils ambassador, Ms Olivia Ong is famous for her sultry, pristine and soulful vocal. She is also the one who sang the theme song for local drama series, The little Nyonya’s theme song – 如燕 and National Day Parade 2012.

Olivia Ong also shared about how she maintains a healthy voice and her personal experience with voice-related problems. On top of that, she also shared about her vocal experiences, struggles as a performing artiste and her view on what it takes to impress the judges for Strepsils “The Right Note” singing competition.
After receiving overwhelming response from last year’s competition. “The Right Note” singing competition is back with a bigger bang. There is a $5,000 cash prize, K-Box VIP Party Suite Package worth $1,000, 3 month residency stint at Switch by Timbre and duet performance with Ms Olivia Ong. Did I also mention that there will be personal coaching from Ms Olivia Ong for the winner of the competition. Strepsils hopes that the competition would address the importance of keeping our vocal in optimum condition and to encourage more budding talented musicians and vocalists to join,. Hence for this year’s competition, bands (maximum of five members) are welcome to participate.
The finalists of the competition will also be looking at an exclusive and enriching musical line-up which include vocal training session by Timbre Music Academy. So my talented friends, do submit your entries to The Right Note Competition via the competition’s microsite. The closing date will be 16 May 2015, so don’t miss your chance to chase your dream. 😉
After the event, refreshments were served with Timbre’s signatures such as the skinny pizza, chicken wings and portobello mushroom. It was also the time where everyone gets to mingle around and know more people.
And I have also scored a picture with the talented and beautiful Olivia Ong.
Here is another shot of Ms Olivia Ong which I thought I have captured her very beautifully. Hehehe.
