Going on a holiday always excite me. But nothing excites me more than going for a food hunting holiday in Australia. However, food hunting holidays usually requires massive planning, right? Good news is running on its 5th edition, Margaret River Gourmet Escape presented by Audi, an annual wine and dine event will be happening from November 18 to 20 in Perth. Not only are we looking at some of the region’s most amazing wine, seafood and produces, there are more than 40 culinary superstars from around the world including Nigella Lawson, Joan Roca a Fontaine, Mauro Colagreco, Rick Stein and more will share their knowledge during the event!
Few weeks ago, I have the privilege to have a preview of what to expect at the Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2016. Chef Janice Wong has joined hands with Chef Dany Angove, the Head Chef at Leeuwin Estate (a famous Margaret River family winery and award winning restaurant) to present a West Australian canapé and wine reception at Janice Wong’s latest F&B outlet, Janice Wong at National Musuem.
Chef Dany Angove was so dedicated to let us have a taste of what to expect that he has specially brought over fresh ingredients such as scallops and truffle from the Margaret River region just for the preview event.

Esperance scallop, wagin duck, pineapple
While Chef Dany Angove wowed the media guests with canapes, Chef Janice Wong displayed her flair on desserts with a 3 course dessert degustation.

Besides bringing over some of her signature desserts, Chef Janice Wong is also going to insert a twist to the dessert with the beautiful fresh produces in Perth.
