Hotel Review: Theme Park Hotel at Genting Highlands

It is almost like a yearly affair that we will make our way to Genting Highlands to escape the sweltering weather. Well, at least for a few days since it is only 6-7 hours ride (depending on the traffic) away. While First World Hotel has already revamped, my choice of hotel is always Theme Park Hotel as I adore its quirky and colourful decor with huge room space.

During my recent trip, I have also noticed that Theme Park Hotel has refreshed the look in the hotel lobby. More elements of fun have been injected e.g one would find the reception area located inside a hot air balloon.

There are also self check in kiosks to ease the checking in queue.

I feel that Theme Park Hotel is also more family friendly with little rides at the “playground” in front of the reception area as well as cute human sized figurines located around the lobby. Yes, Genting Highlands is no longer just a destination for adult gaming. In fact, during my recent trip, I find Genting Highlands more kid friendly with heaps of activities to do at Sky Avenue. Some of the highlights during the trip includes Adventureland, Zipline, VR Experience at the Void as well as an indoor theme park! Oh yes, the dining choices are aplenty. I will share more in the next post.

For those who are looking for a quick bite, there is a takeaway kiosk located in the hotel lobby too. Although there is a good variety of food available, I would recommend you to just take a short walk to Sky Avenue to check out the restaurants or even Malaysia Food Street as the seatings are limited in the hotel lobby.

There are a total of 456 rooms available at Theme Park Hotel with many choices of rooms available. There are also rooms with two queen-sized beds to accommodate up to four people (Quads) and rooms with three queen-sized beds(Sixers) which is suitable for families or bigger groups. The ones that we stayed in were the Kings which come with a queen-sized bed, separate bathroom and toilet as well as the basic necessities like hair dryer, kettle, television, mini fridge, toiletries and towels,. There are also 2 complimentary bottles of water to be provided everyday.

While there are no wardrobe or cabinet, there are hooks for you to hang your clothes if you really have the need to do so.

If you are one who also brings a lot of electronic gadgets with you, the good news is power points are aplenty and the ones beside the bed also come with USB charging point.

Sleep is always the most important aspect of my life and I am happy to tell you that the bed is comfortable while the pillows are fluffy. Although the pillows are not as firm as I would like them to be, overall I still have a very good rest.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Theme Park Hotel as it has all my basic needs met – comfortable stay, short distance away from the Arena of Stars, SkyAvenue lifestyle mall and SkyCasino as well as spacious walking space in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a fuss free experience that can accommodate you and several friends or family members in the room. Oh yes, don’t forget to take more pictures when you are here. I thought the hotel and its surrounding are great for pictures.
