Owned by celebrity chef, Peter Neo, who often appears on Channel 8 Television program, Gustoso Ristorante Italiano is a family friendly restaurant tucked in the quiet Seletar Hills Estate where one can expect to find homemade hand stretched pizza as well as tiramisu one the menu.
As someone who has the weakness for bread, I was delighted with the idea of complimentary housemade bread. This is definitely best to pair with the butter that is served together at the side or simply order the Sausage with Prawns and Tomato Sauce ($28). I kid you not, dunk the bread into the tomato sauce and enjoy this flavoursome dip. Oh yes, not forgetting that the prawns are fresh, plump and juicy.
Other signature starters include Scallop Parma Ham ($26), Spinach Salad ($18), Mushroom Soup ($14), Bisque Soup and Tomato Soup.
As some of you might have known, Chef Peter Neo used to own Blend it up, a fusion restaurant that served up homemade pizzas and pastas. Hence, it is definitely a must to try their pasta and pizza.
While the fresh clams in the Spaghetti Vongole ($22) were cooked perfectly, I like how hearty Linguine Al Cartaccio($28) is. There is nothing better than generous serving of seafood such as prawns, squid, clams and mussels coated with a good tomato sauce and al denta pasta.
Seriously nothing beats homemade pizza. At Gustoso Ristorante Italiano, the pizza dough is hand stretched before it is fired in the brick oven. Oh yes, if you like your pizza crust to be thicker, you can always request for it to be made the way you like it. If not, it is usually thin crust and tipped with delicious premium ingredients.
One of the item that is polished within seconds after all the photo taking is the Porcini Risotto ($28) which is cooked just nice with generous portions of mushrooms and it is packed with flavours. Trust me, it is so hard to resist a second helping even when we are already on our 10th dish!
For those who want to have some protein that literally melt in your mouth, do check out the Lamb Shank ($40) which is cooked till fork tender with a blend of spices. Not to worry as unlike most lamb dishs, it is not gamy at all.
To round the meal on a sweet note, I would recommend to leave some space for the housemade Tiramisu. While there is hint of the rum aroma, it is balanced and not too sweet.
Overall, it is a good meal to have with friends. And if you make your table reservation through Eatigo, you get 30 to 50% off!Good deal must share, don’t miss it ok?
