Woohoo eighth edition of Beerfest Asia is back again. I am privileged to receive a pair of tickets to the event which runs from 16 -19 June 2016. So here I am to share more about it. Well, I can almost smell weekend as I pen this down. So how about getting high with the different kinds of beers available?!
1. Where
It is located at Marina Promenade, 1 Republic Boulevard, Singapore 038975. Ah ha, I knew it, you don’t know where, right? It is ok as I didn’t know it at start too. It is actually located in between F1 Pit Building and Singapore Flyer. The best way to get there is by Grab la as there is a promo code (BFA) which gives you $3 off your ride (to/ fro). If not you can take a train and alight at Promenade Station (nearest exit: Exit A). If you are driving, the parking is $10 so yes, go over and park at the carpark at Singapore Flyer if you really need to drive. If not, leave your car at home la, it is BEERFEST leh. Such a pity if you leave without having any beer right?
2. How Much?
The ticket prices start from $25 for 1 DAY PASS (Thu or Sun), $100 for 4 DAY PASS and $117 for 1 DAY VIP PACKAGE if you are buying the tickets online. Peeps with UOB credit cards will have exclusive discount but the UOB $15 1 day pass is sold out. For info on ticketing, please check with Sistic or Beerfest Asia Official website.
3. Bag Check
Yes, there is. I would strongly suggest to stay light as the last thing you want is to lose anything at the event.
4. Toilet
Guys and ladies, no worries, there is a toilet area which is near to the Harry’s spirit and wine lounge.
5. Air Con????
Basically it is an open air event BUT there is an air conditioned area at the Harry’s spirit and wine lounge. I know some of you must be feeling relieved. However, do note that there is an entry price of $8 which is only payable by beerfest chips.
6. Are unused Beerfest chips refundable?
Yes, Beerfest asia is happy to refund you 80% of your unused chips if you have an amount of more than $30. So don’t say I didn’t tell you ar, don’t  change too much chips unless you are a super good drinker.
7. What to expect?
Over 500 beers from more than 35 exhibitors will be there! A quick look at the exhibitors, I saw many beer selling at $6 onwards and sampling platters of 6 beers are available from $8. A large variety of new beers will also be making their debut in Singapore, including Archipelago Brewery’s new Singapore Blonde Ale, Chaoying’s Flensburger Winterbock, SABMiller’s Fat Yak and many others.
8. Music
What is a party without some music, right? There will be 3 music stages with live music by International Tribute Bands, local bands and a line of beautiful local female DJs!
9. Food
There will be food from Harry’s, Mr & Mrs Maxwell’s and Tiger’s Milk made available to feed your hunger pangs as well.
10. Games
Just when you think the music is giving you a headache, check out the Games tent! There are Poolball, Darts and Beer Pong available to let you take a break or drink more. lol
11. Seating
There are also plenty of seatings but crowd is expected so please be prepared to see “people mountain people sea”.
12. Asia Beer Award
160 beers across 15 categories were judged by a panel of 16 esteemed judges. Woohoo.. locally owned, independent commercial microbrewery, Red Dot Brewery has also won The Best of Singapore, India Pale Ale. This IPA will be available during the beerfest as well as in Red Dot (Boat Quay and Dempsey), Manhatten in Regent Hotel, Riders Cafe and several other F&B outlets after the beerfest. So remember to check them out ya, national pride okay!
Overall, this is really like a beer lover’s paradise. So do brave the crowd and drop by to enjoy the mass selection of beer available. Tell me, how often do you get to have so many different beer at 1 location! Super super rare right, so mai tu liao. For more details, you can also check out the Beerfest Asia website. See you if I see you. Remember to wear something light as it might get a little too hot at some point.
