As many would have known, the old Tiong Bahru estate has revitalized as a hipster place where cafes mushroomed around the vicinity. Recently, at the quieter side of Tiong Bahru, another cafe, Dessert Project, has recently opened its door. During one of our dates, we went to check out this cafe.
As we entered the cafe, the first thing that greeted us was the array of homemade ice cream on display at the ice cream chiller. Interesting flavours such as White Truffle, Melon & Parma Ham and White Rabbit Candy were spotted. Just as the name of the cafe suggested, homemade ice cream and thick toast are the key players here.

Nutella Toast ($14.90) |
After having the toast from After You in Bangkok, I have this unceasing craving for dessert thick toast. Thus I was elated to try the toast here. The toast was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My only regret is the crust is slightly too thick for my liking. However it was sinfully delicious with the generous nutella sauce, ferror rocher ice cream and cookies and cream ice cream. On the day that we visited, vanilla bean ice cream was sold out so we got to choose another flavour! yay! Aesthetically this is a beautiful dish and I recommend this to be shared as it became a little bit too sweet for me after a while.

Iced Gourmet Tea ($5.50) |
Interesting gourmet tea from ETTE Tea was spotted here. Some of the flavours available are mango sticky rice, lychee konnyaku and pandan chiffon tea. With the hot weather, I chose my tea to be iced and it paired well with the Nutella Toast.
I was rather captivated by the minimalist industrial look and for the first time, I requested J to help me to take OOTD. Lol.
I must say that a great job was done for the OOTD taken, don’t you think so? Just in case you are curious, I am using Laneige brush pact with Jane Iredale’s limited edition getaway eyeshadow kit, Shu Uemera eyebrow pencil and Clinique brusher. I really like light make up like this. It does make me look more fresh and feeling good. =)
Nested in a quiet old estate, Dessert Project is like a breath of fresh air amidst the traditional trades surrounding. Do check them out for their gourmet tea and thick toast if you are around the area.
