Few weeks ago, from Charlene‘s instagram I won 2 tickets to Crème Simon workshop with Elle which is conducted by famous make up artist, Larry Yeo. Being relatively new in the market, Crème Simon has already won numerous awards from Her World, Elle and Women’s weekly. I am both curious and excited to know more about this brand.
The event started with the history of Crème Simon which began all the way back in 1860, France. A young apothecary (chemist in modern day context), Joseph Simon was inspired to find a natural remedy for the laundresses’ dry and chapped hands after walking down River Rhone. Soon, Joseph found a remedy and words had it that the specially concocted cream could do wonders to the complexion. Hence, Crème Simon was found.
Besides doing a demo on how to use Crème Simon products, Larry also shared some beauty and make-up tips.
During the workshop, there were also tea and Ladurée macarons being served.
I was elated as macarons are one of my favourites! So I had fun trying out the various flavours during the event. The macaron shells are chewy and of a good balance between crisp and softness. Depending on the flavours, some are overly sweet. Amongst them, my favourites are the rose and yuzu ones. Yum yum 😉
After the event, there was a Q&A session and a photo taking session with Charlene and Larry.
A goodies bag which consists of Crème Simon Gentle Double Exfoliation Scrub, Dermo-Activ Floral Serum, Restorative Light Night Moisturiser, Oxygenating Light Day Moisturiser and Restorative Sleeping Mask in sample sizes was given to all participants.
After using them for more than a week, I am very pleased with the results. As I have very dry skin due to long hours in air conditioned places, it is always my concern that my face looks like a desert when I put on my make up. However, my complexion has improved after I used the products religiously. Not only does my make up stay better now, I am no longer worried about having Sahara desert on my face. Although the products keep my face hydrated and supple, they are light in texture and absorbed readily by the skin seconds after application. Best of all, they are free of paraben, alcohol, silicone, oil, sulfates, colourings and phenoxyethanol.
