I guess many must have heard of Compound Coffee which is located inside The Interlace condo. Well, previously it was not very accessible as you got to pass through the condo in order to reach it. Good news is it has been relocated to a new venue in errr… slightly more accessible venue (at least you don’t need to go through any security guards)!
Located inside one of the industrial building, Techlink, in Kaki Bukit, coffee lovers around the area can now rejoice! Although as compared with the previous outlet, the deco here is totally different (no natural lighting and is slated towards a more industrial look. No more predominantly white deco.), at least you can get your daily dose of specialty coffee here with an easier access, isn’t it?
With a bigger space as compared to the previous location, we have spotted an area dedicated to the coffee roasting machines! Yes dearies, Compound Coffee has been doing their own roasting of coffee bean since the time that they were at The Interlace Condo.
We had a 5oz latte ($4.50) over their house blend, Public Access (a blend of Brazilian and Ethiopian beans). The latte art was spot on and we like the nutty finish with a good acidity to it.
Besides the usual espresso based coffee and filter coffee, there are cold brew available as well. However, the White Cold Brew ($7) was slightly too watered down for our liking as we preferred something with a little bit more punch!
Good news for people who are looking for a more extensive menu as compared to the previous location, your wish has been granted. The current menu has an expanded range of food items which includes salad, sandwiches and a few brunch items. We had the Croque Madame ($12.40) which came with a sunny side up. Simple affair but we like the crisp from the grilled cheddar cheese over the sun-dried tomato focaccia with smoked chicken ham and mozarella.
Will I be back again?
If I am around the area, I really do not mind going back for a cup of latte. However, I rarely venture to the eastern side of Singapore, I do not know when will my next visit be.
