Wee.. 4 days countdown to CNY! With Chinese New Year songs playing in the shopping malls and almost everywhere I go, I am totally soaking in the pre-CNY festive mood. What about you? Have you done your manicure and pedicure?
This year, I am actually very kiasu. I have gotten my first set of Chinese New Year gelish manicure done at the last week of Dec 2015. Ya, a bit too early right? lol. But look at my nails, so cute hor?
I have requested to get something simple with 3D fruity gelish nail art. Hehehe mandarin orange and pineapple to be exact. Mandarin orange symbolised 大 吉 大 利 which mean good luck and a smooth sailing year ahead while pineapple (凤梨) which is also called as “ong-lai” in Hokkien has the meaning of fortune/wealth. 
Janet has also hand drawn a monkey and a fortune cat for me to huat huat all the way in the year of Monkey. =D
Haha, I thought that the gelish manicure would last me till CNY (not that it wouldn’t) but who knows I got bored of it. So I went back to get a new set done. lol. 
This time round, I requested to have hand drawn fortune God (财神爷) and golden ingots (元寶) to be drawn on one hand and firecrackers (鞭炮) on the other. One of my friends even thought that the hand drawn nail art is actually a sticker. lol. I can’t blame her for that as Janet is really very meticulous and detailed when it comes to the nail art. =)
For this set of nails, it is $40 for the classic gelish manicure and $40 for the whole set of nail arts. If you prefer to just draw a (财神爷), golden ingots (元寶) or a firecrackers (鞭炮), it is $8 each for the nail art. 
I am super pleased with this set of nail art and I even jokingly told my friends that I am going to sing the 財神到 (Fortune God Has Arrived) song if I see a fortune god. 财神 到~财神 到~ 財神到我家大門口~迎財神~ 接財神~把財神接到我家里頭~
For Chinese New Year, I have also done a classic pedicure and had some plum blossom (梅花) and a chinese fan ($8 each) on my toes.
