When Capitol Kempinski Hotel was opened last year, I was rather excited as I was looking forward to explore the new hotel since it is the first Kempinski Hotel in Singapore. But I never got a chance till recently when I hung out with Leong and Adrian after an event. Oh my, this is definitely a place worth going.
Capitol Kempinski Hotel is located just a stone throw from City Hall Mrt and it is in the same compound as the restored Capitol Building and Stamford House. Besides housing 157 guestrooms and suites, there are a lobby lounge, an outdoor saltwater relaxation pool, a fitness centre and Spa, a bespoke bar and 15 Stamford by Alvin Leung.
The warm toned lighting, classic chengal wood flooring, colonial design as well as the contemporary art decoration was very welcoming as we relaxed the afternoon away at Capitol Kempinski Hotel’s Lobby Lounge. Oh yes, not to forget that the hotel smells great with a lightly perfumed air which reminded me of Ion Orchard.
The Lobby Lounge menu at Capitol Kempinski Hotel includes starters such as soup and salad to burgers and mains to light bites and desserts. One can also enjoy afternoon tea at $45 per pax. As we were still very full from a media tasting, we have decided to enjoy some cocktails ($22) instead. If you are looking for wines (from $16 per glass) or champagnes (from $17 per glass), there is also a good selection here. Of course, there are non alcoholic beverages available as well.
What we like about Lobby Lounge at Capitol Kempinski Hotel is that it is located in the middle of the town yet one would feel that one is away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Oh yes, there are power points spotted around every corner, this could be a great place for those who are looking for a place to have business meetings or just to have a cup of tea while you work on those urgent emails to be sent out. If not, just simply soak right into Victorian vibes and enjoy the afternoon.
