Cafe Hopping: Project Açaí at Holland Village

Do you agree with me that we are getting more and more educated in terms of body wellness and health. I remember when I was younger, fit and healthy. As we age, we must exercise and eat our meals on a regular basis. Nowadays, there are more and more healthy choices for us. Project Acai is one such example. It is Singapore’s first acai superfood cafe. Acai (pronounced as ah. sign. ee) berry is actually a fruit grown wild atop Palm trees native to the Amazon rainforest. Packed with high antioxidants, fibers and omega 3, 6, 8, it is claimed to fight free radicals damage, prevent cancer and delay signs of aging. Wow! Say yay to overall wellness!

Inside the cafe is a simple white counter where the acai bowl and beverages are prepared. There are limited seatings but overall is simple and spacious.
There are 3 sizes for the acai bowl (handy, medium and large) and we ordered a medium ($9.80) one. The acai is blended and put as a base and the top is a beautiful display of mini fruit platter with chia seeds, goji berries and cacao nibs.
Overall, it is refreshing and the blended acai has a oatmeal like texture. Perhaps for some it might be filling enough to be a meal substitution, the Chinese in me would prefer to take this as a dessert after meal (I need my carbs).
Do give it a try if you are around the vicinity. Retailing of acai berry is also available. It is good to know that the acai berry used is Sambazon Acai which is organic and from a fair trade community. 🙂
