Fans of Ben & Jerry’s, are you as excited as me? From today onward, Ben & Jerry’s new ice cream flavours will be available islandwide!
Few days back, I was blessed to be invited to a media preview of Ben & Jerry’s new ice cream flavours. For those who love to have your ice cream and cake together, now you can have them both together!
So what are the 2 new flavours that Ben & Jerry’s has installed for us? There are the Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core and the Ben & Jerry’s Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core.
We all know that Ben & Jerry’s ice creams are good on its own. But during the event, we were taught to have it in a new way! Seriously can’t wait to share with you guys cos I thought this is a brilliant treats for any party! We were taught to make Ben & Jerry’s Tiramisu Trifle. Please don’t even have that thought that it is going to be hard. I assure you, it is as easy as ABC!
Ben & Jerry’s Tiramisu Trifle
Ingredients:
– 1 pint Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core/ Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core ice cream
(remove from freeze about 30 mins before assembly)
– 1 Pack of Ladyfinger biscuits
– Brewed Coffee (Can replaced with any instant mix coffee)
– Speculoos/ any other desired fillings and toppings
Our first mission is to fill up 1/3 of the small plastic cup with Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core and/ or the Ben & Jerry’s Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core.
After that, break the ladyfinger biscuit into halves/thirds if needed and dip them into your brewed coffee. Do this as quickly as you can as you do not want your ladyfingers to be too soggy. Layer them on top of your ice cream.
Add in the speculoos (Add more, I think it is super yummy) and any fillings or toppings you might like in your trifle. Fill the cup with another layer of ice cream.
Top your trifle off with another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfinger biscuits and deco as desired.
Freeze for 3 to 4 hours or overnight. And there you are, your lovely homemade Ben & Jerry’s Tiramisu Trifle! I am sure your guests will appreciate your effort for this after dinner sweet treat! I have with me another recipe from Ben & Jerry’s for you to try out too!
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Pie
Ingredients:
– 1 pint Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core/ Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core ice cream
(remove from freeze about 30 mins before assembly)
– Salted Caramel/ Chocolate Fudge
– Truffle-infused nuts (soak your choice of nuts in truffle oil overnight)
– 150g Butter
– 300g Digestive biscuits, crushed
Method:
1. Ensure that the digestive biscuits are thoroughly crushed to get fine crumbs. Melt the butter by either bain-marie style or quickly using microwave.
2. Mix the digestive crumbs into the butter.
3. Layer the mixture hard in your pie tin and press hard against the sides and bottom to ensure that the base is compact and will hold well.
4. Scatter the truffle-infused nuts on the biscuit base, then spread the ice cream onto the base and alternate with salted caramel or chocolate fudge (whichever you prefer, I say have them all! =D). Swirl the sauce with the ice cream and feel free to add in more nuts.
5. Top the pie with more nuts or any desired toppings and freeze overnight before un-moulding and serve.
