Christmas always has a special place in my heart. In line with the Disney-themed decorations on Orchard Road, Tea Lounge at Regent Hotel is now offering a whimsical princess treats during the afternoon tea session. As I was looking for a nice cosy place to catch up with one of my girlfriends, we decided to check out the Festive Weekday Afternoon Tea.
The first thing that caught my attention as I walked into the Tea Lounge at Regent Hotel was the larger than life castle behind the dessert spread. Immediately, I can totally feel the magical fairy tale vibes in the air.
With warm lighting and comfortable seating, we were both feeling rather relaxed to enjoy the afternoon ahead. What I like about the table seating here is that although it seems that the tables are set quite near to each other, we have enough privacy to continue our girly catch up.
The afternoon tea also includes a choice of coffee or tea. Oh yes, the selection of the tea was very impressive and you can also choose between a pourover coffee or an espresso based coffee. There is even a special custom blend tea for Disney by Tealeaves: Princess Breakfast. The coffee lover in me also delighted at the sight of a list of specialty beans available for the pourover!
Besides an array of salads and an assortment of savoury delights, please do not miss the dessert selection!
As I am not a big eater, I was elated to find that the cakes and such come in cute dainty sizes. Haha. So good to be able to try everything without wasting the food! Some of the dessert selection includes Dark Chocolate Forest Eclair, Granny Smith Apple Tart, Amarena Cherry Chestnut Tart as well as Traditional Fruit Cake and Princess Breakfast Macaroon which was made using the Princess Breakfast Tea Blend.
Do remember to go easy with the items on the buffet line as a three-tier stand replete with an assortment of seasonal finger sandwiches and savoury highlights; alongside classic scones will be served to the table. I like the scones here as they are one of the best in town! Together with clotted cream and lemon curd, this is what a perfect afternoon is made of.
Princess Love Cocktail, a cocktail concocted with prosecco and strawberry puree was also created specially for this disney themed high tea! If you have sweet tooth and you like bubbles, do give it a try.
On Christmas Day, the Hotel’s High Tea Buffet will also includes Regent’s signature Laksa with Alaskan King Crab and Quail’s Egg; Roasted Limoncello Infused Turkey with Caramelised Black Figs; and Thyme-marinated Foie Gras Terrine with Caramelised Amarena Cherries and Roasted Pistachios on the buffet spread.
Some highlights for New Year’s include Beetroot Marinated Queen Scallop, Tartar with Chilled Saffron Angel Hair and Caviar; Smoked Wagyu Beef Roulade Wrapped with Truffle Mascarpone and Wild Rocket; and Kurobuta Organic Honey Glazed Gammon Ham with Marsala Wine Sauce.
