I have always wanted to beautify myself but the timid cat in me is too worried about going under the knife. Hence, I have been turning to aesthetics for my feature enhancements. Come on, who doesn’t want to look better right and it has been more than a year since I last did my fillers. Since I am approaching my birthday, I have decided to get myself a pampering session by beautifying myself. Stay with me as I share more about my experience with Dr. Liu Han Ping Irenaeus from Centre of Cosmetics Rejuvenation & Surgery.
Before I walked into Centre of Cosmetics Rejuvenation & Surgery, I already have a rough idea of what I wanted to do. I wanted to get some fillers on my nose bridge and chin to have a more dimensional face and some botox to relax my muscle on my forehead as I am perpetually frowning and it made me look constantly annoyed.
However, Dr. Liu Han Ping Irenaeus has advised me not to do chin filters as he thought that a little filler on my laugh line would make me look younger instead. During the consultation, I was also very glad that Dr Liu and I were on the same page that we wanted the results to be natural looking instead of looking as though I have a new face.
To be frank, I was also impressed when Dr. Liu pointed out one of my concerns, eye bags, can be fixed. Alright, don’t get me wrong ah. What happen was it was the residue of the fillers that I previously did on my cheeks that has caused me to look as if I have a severe eye bag on the right eye and this can be corrected with some filler at the tear trough. Yay to that! Can you imagine my happiness? I was excited to see this “eye bag” gone as it made me look forever tired and having puffy eyes!
After explaining to me the procedures, my make up was removed and numbing cream was applied to the areas that the botox and filler treatments will be injected.
Although the waiting time for the numbing cream to take effect is about 15 minutes, it passed by very swiftly as Dr Liu was chit chatting with me about everything under the sun, from the latest promotion that ippuddo is having to our favourite soccer team…etc
Dr Liu also shown me the brand new fillers and botox that I was about to have before we get started with the botox and fillers treatments.
This is not my first time doing it but I was still feeling quite nervous as we started the procedures. Thankfully the numbing cream did its magic perfectly and I was not experiencing any pain or discomfort other than the expected ant bite sensation during the needle entry. Dr Liu also highlighted to me that the nerves between the nose and the eyes were very near to each other so I might tear a bit. To be frank, Dr Liu was really swift with what he was doing. Within 5 minutes into the treatment, I was a happy girl with a new “nose”, higher nose bridge and best part is it still looks very natural!
Dr Liu used Juvederm Vobella as the filler to be injected along tear troughs to correct my eye bag and under eye shadow aka dark circle problem. Although he did warned me about the possibility of getting slight bruises after the procedure, I was lucky that my face only swelled a little for the first few days after the treatment.
Next up, bidding goodbye to my frown lines! I have always hated that I frown TOO Often! By injecting botox to the frown line area, it soften the lines and made me look less grumpy. haha. The only down part about it is it only last for 3 to 6 months depending on how our body react to it. But this is totally fine for me as I would prefer to look less “angry” since I already have a resting bitch face.
Just in case any one of you have yet to realise although laugh lines might represent that we are leading a joyful life with lot of laughter, these lines deepen as we age. Hence, making us look older than our exact age! So by applying Juvéderm via injection along the laugh line from the nose to the sides of the mouth which help us to look more youthful than before. What I like about the procedure is the effects can last for at least six months and they’re reversible. If you don’t like how you look after the procedure, the doctor can inject hyaluronidase to counteract the effects. So no worries about having a stiff smile which you might get after botox injection.
Immediately after visiting Dr Liu from Centre for Cosmetic Rejuvenation and Surgery, I went out for dinner with Elphin that evening and this is a candid shot taken by him. As you can see, the down period is almost zero!
In fact, life continues as per usual and I even went for a spa treatment on the 5th day after all the botox and fillers. The only thing to note is not to go for facial as you want your fillers to settle in nicely on the face.
