Beauty Review: GO60 Spa at Esplanade Xchange

Just before my Sydney Trip, I was invited to try the facial at GO60 Spa at Esplanade Exchange. GO60 is a lifestyle spa concept boutique under the Mary Chia Holdings. Although I have read several negative reviews on GO60, I was glad that I went. I felt that the facial that I tried, did prepared my skin for the dry harsh weather in Sydney.

One of the things that I hate while going facial is to think of excuses to reject the beauty consultant on the facial package that they are selling. The plus point of GO60 is that all the beauty treatment is priced at a nett price of $60, no GST or service charge and no hard selling from the beauty consultant. Yay!

I was first asked to fill up my particulars and my medical history.
I was then led into a room where I will be doing my treatment. Although the room is quite compact, it has a cabinet with lock where I can keep my personal belonging while enjoying my facial. Chinese has a saying and I think it is very apt in to describe the room – 麻雀雖小,五臟俱全.
After analyzing my skin condition, the beautician advised me to do Go Hydrate Facial as my skin was quite dehydrated. She started the treatment by cleansing my face with a make up remover to remove my make up followed by a scrub and a facial massage. The massage was comfortable and helped me to relax.
After the facial massage, I was put under a facial steamer before extraction of blackheads. As I am a typicial ai swee mai mia (vain in hokkien) gal, I do not mind any pains suffered during the course of pursuing beauty. However the extraction was done with little pain experienced.
The Go Hydrate Facial consists of 2 masks – Aloe Vera Mask and Peppermint Mask. Aloe Vera has been known for their anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It also has a cooling sensation when applied. Thus it explained why I have very little redness when I walked out of the place.
After the Aloe Vera mask, a peppermint mask was applied to my face but the beautician skipped my eye areas as I have eyelash extension. I was told that the peppermint mask has moisturising and also brightening effect.
After the facial, my skin felt softer and hydrated. Unlike the bad experiences suffered by many, I enjoyed the facial and I love the idea of paying for a flat rate for my facial without being pushed to sign any package. On top of that, it is located within 2 mins walk from Esplanade Mrt Station, great location and easily access. Do give it a try and share with me how you feel about this place.
