The recent years have seen a surge in cafes and eateries especially in the western area of Singapore. Located at Holland Village is where one of my favourite cafe
D’Good Cafe is. As we walk up a flight of stairs beside The Body Shop, it is like walking into a fairytale setting. There are many corners which are instagram worthy and called for a “OOTD” or a “welfie”. I was invited to D’ Good Cafe for a private tasting on the new items on its menu.

Something I really like about the cafe is that there is a constant upgrade and improvement on the menu. There is always something new to draw me back to the place. =) We started the tasting with a round of coffee and a classic Deutsch Skillet Pancake (new, $8). Unlike the usual pancake, the Deutsch Skillet Pancake is not as fluffy. It is also known as the
Dutch Baby pancake with a texture that is a cross between a pancake and a crepe.

Black Pepper Beef Salad ($12) |
Besides the classic Deutsch Skillet Pancake, there is also an array of sweet or savory Deutsch Skillet Pancake available on the menu. We tried one of the best seller which is Black Pepper Beef Salad ($12). This is my personal favourite among the 3 Deutsch skillet pancakes that we have tried. I like how each components complemented each other and make it a very hearty dish to have.
 |
Green Tea Latte ($7) |
Raved by Shirley during the last time we were there, Diana and me ordered a green tea latte each. The green hues of goodness arrived with a kawaii Totoro latte art on it. If you like something not too sweet yet have a nice aroma of the matcha, this might be your cup of perfect latte.

Sweet Potato Deutsch Skillet Pancake ($12) |
For peeps with sweet tooth, you can end the meal here with Deutsch Skillet Pancake with sweet potato, azuki & vanilla ice cream ($12). Personally I am totally in love with the azuki served here. It has a lovely smooth texture with bits of azuki. It is also very photograph worthy as well. Letting my five senses feast!
 |
Chef Alonzo Fried Rice ($13) |
The Japanese rice is fried with fresh prawns, bacon, eggs and topped with green papaya salad before serving. Do note that the dish is quite spicy but it was well loved by the peeps around the table. It is flavourful and has generous bits of bacon. =)
 |
Baked Lemongrass Chicken ($18) |
As mentioned in my previous review at
D’Good Cafe, I had preferred Baked Lemongrass Chicken over the Baked Chicken on Sticks ($10). It is good to know that this dish remains as good as I remembered it.

D’ Good Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake |
Yes, we had the signature D’ Good Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake again. The cheesecake is light on the palate yet has a good balance on the saltness and sweetness. It is just as good as before. Kudos to good consistency!
For tea lovers, there is also a good variety available. From black tea to green tea to fruit tea and herbal tea, you can definitely find a tea that suits you here. We ended the tasting with Yorkshire Gold tea which is smooth and aromatic. Yes the teapot set is very pretty right? In my opinion, it is a good way to spend a afternoon with some good friends over some tea at the swing. Thank you D’ Good Cafe for the media tasting invite.
