I have great love for steamboat and I appreciate good soup base and fresh ingredients. Hence, when I heard about Beauty in The Pot’s newest outlet that is spanning more than 7,600 square feet and offering SIX soup bases, I know that it is about time to travel to the Eastern part of Singapore to pay them a visit.
This 288-seater NEW outlet is not only the largest among the 3 outlets, it also has a pink princess theme interior design which is totally different from the rest of its outlets.
Beauty in the Pot also has private rooms available here with individual pots to cater for large groups or families. Each room has 10 seats, and can be combined to form an even larger space. There is also an exhaust system surrounding each pot to make sure that none of the diner walk out smelling like a walking steamboat pot. =)
Besides the Signature Beauty Collagen Broth (Shark’s Cartilage Soup) and Signature Spicy Nourishing Soup (Pork Bone Soup), the new outlet also serves herbal Drunken Chicken Broth, Cooling Coconut Broth, Longevity Wild Pine Mushroom Broth (Vegetarian); and Vitamin C Tomato Sweet Corn Broth. The price of a single pot starts from S$14 and a quart pot starts from S$5 each. I say just get the quart pot to try the different soup bases. I have tried the Signature Beauty Collagen Broth, Signature Spicy Nourishing Soup, herbal Drunken Chicken Broth and the Cooling Coconut Broth. Surprisingly, I like all of them! While the Signature Beauty Collagen Broth is great for the skin and flavourful, the Cooling Coconut Broth is lighter in flavour but has a very nice coconut aroma. If you like herbal soup just like I do, don’t forget to try the ones here. I like how the taste is not overwhelmingly strong yet more than sufficient to let you enjoy the herbal aroma and goodness.
For those who can’t do without your dips, simply top up S$3.80 to enjoy the wide selection of condiments and a variety of fresh fruits. I like it that there are also some dipping recipes for us to try too.
Besides the usual steamboat offerings, don’t forget to try the Signature Homemade Fish Tofu (S$2/piece) which is made with yellowtail fish, soya bean and egg white. Yes, it tasted as good as it looked.
Some of the other ingredients that are not so common are like the Shredded Konnyaku (Half Portion $4; Full Portion $8), which is perfect if you are looking for something with a textual bite and almost zero calories, and the Morel Ear Mushrooms (Half Portion $8; Full Portion $16), which is high in antioxidants!
With all the pastes, meatballs and dumplings made in house, it made no sense not to order some of them to try. I like how the Ebiko Prawn Paste (S$18.80) is set apart from our usual prawn paste by using 100% prawn meat and the ebiko added a texturally crunch to this delicious paste. If you like something with a little punch, try the otah paste!
In conjunction with the Grand Opening, there will be male models giving out pink roses to female guests during selected dates and times. Diners will also receive a pair of exclusive Beauty in The Pot chopsticks and $20 catering vouchers (while stocks last).
With Chinese New Year coming, Beauty in the Pot also offers Prosperity Abalone Yu Sheng ($48.80, serves up to 10 persons) and Paradise Treasure Pot with 8-Head Abalone ($268, serves up to 5 persons / $438, serves up to 10 persons) for takeaway. You can also enjoy steamboat at the comfort of your house with the catering sets available from S$218+ for 5 pax (Beauty Collagen Broth and Spicy Nourishing Broth, and a wide variety of freshly prepared ingredients such as US Angus Prime Short Ribs, fresh Sea Prawns…etc). Everything you need for steamboat such as a full set crockery ware, steamboat pot, induction cooker, disposable table cover, soup refill..etc will be provided but do remember to made your order at least 5 working days in advance. =)
Although all Beauty in The Pot restaurants will be closed at 10pm on eve of Lunar New Year, operating hours resume as per normal on first day of Lunar New Year. Happy Chinese New Year
