The Coconut Club has shifted from a 96-seat Ann Siang space to a slightly bigger space at 269 Beach Road! The good news is diners can now choose from cosy indoor seating to alfresco dining. So I have decided to check it out during tea time to find out what is new on the menu
New on the menu, you can now get local breakfast here. One of the must have got to be the Charcoal-Grilled Kaya Toast ($7.80) that is grilled over binchotan! Oh yes, not forgetting that the buns are from the old-school Whampoa Drive bakery Sin Hon Loong! So soft and fluffy with a little crisp at the side from the binchotan!
Of cos, like what my friend, Jill, said, when at Coconut Club, don’t forget to order the coconut! We got the fresh coconut ($8.80) which is perfect for the recent erratic hot weather. But I would defintely want to go back and try other coconut drinks on the menu such as the coconut cold brew and the coconut cocktail that is concocted with pandan and plantation rum!
For dessert, we ordered the signature Chendol and Gula Melaka Chiffon Cake (not in picture). I kid you not, the chiffon cake is really legit. I like how light and aromatic the chiffon cake is. As I was there during tea time so I didn’t get to try any nasi lemak. Making a mental note here to make another trip down to try it.
