Skincare from Radium Medical Aesthetics

Stepping into my forties, one of my biggest skincare concern is always how to age gracefully. While I embrace the signs of aging, I would really prefer to slow down the process through the usage of proper skincare. Hence, I have decided to visit Radium Medical Aesthetics as they have finally launched a wide collection of skincare products to cater to different skin types after years of intensive research and development.
Radium
I kid you not, the selection of skincare that is developed by Dr. Siew Tuck Wah, the Medical Director who is also an appointed regional trainer for a range of dermal filler and thread lift treatments with an impressive portfolio under his belt, is really one of the most comprehensive one that is developed by an aesthetic doctor in the market. There are 6 skincare ranges in total!!
The Serenity collection is designed for people with sensitive skin while the Ageless collection contains anti-aging benefits to replenish the moisture loss and restoring dull, saggy skin. The Glow collection contains powerful anti-oxidants to help your skin fight against free radicals and break down stubborn dark pigments at the same time. While the Liberty collection focuses on restoring balance to oily, acne-prone skin by gently exfoliate away the dead skin cells and unclog the pores. The Balance collection works best for people with normal to dry skin as it contains calming and nourishing active ingredients to restore the skin’s balance without drying the skin. The Self-Defense collection is a range of preventive care that contain strong anti-oxidants and protective agents to shield our skin from the daily exposure of harmful pollutants.

In order to make sure that I have the most suitable skincare products for my skin, I went through a consultation with Dr Chloe Ho who has a grounding in dermatology.

Some of the products that were recommended to me are Balance Honey and Oat cleanser, Balance Natural Hot Spring Water , Self Defence Revital Day Crème , Self Defence SPF 50+/PA+++ Sun Protection Lotion and Ageless Night Repair Crème for my regular skincare routine. For a more intensive care and extra boost, Dr Chloe has also introduced me to the Ageless EGF Repair Serum and Balance HA Vitamin B5 Moisture Boost .

As this is my first time trying out the skincare from Radium Medical aesthetics, I went with the most basic items which I think that will benefit my skin. The kind folks at Radium Medical Aesthetics has also gave me some Balance Honey and Oat cleanser samples to try. After using it, I feel that this cleanser is definitely something that I will restock in my beauty stash as it contains organic honey, organic oatstraw, organic Aloe Vera, Lavender, and Vitamin B5 to soothe the skin while it gently cleanses the skin. I like how it doesn’t leave my skin feeling squeaky clean and my skin feel so much softer and hydrated after use.

Balance Natural Hot Spring Water ($58) was one of the products that I was eyeing on as it is made using mineral rich thermal spring water with a rich concoction of collagen, ceramides, phospholipids and hyaluronic acid which helps to keep the skin moisturised. Ingredient such as Yuzu, Algae, Soybean and Birch Bark extracts are also great to for anti-aging and hydration! Beside, using it as a toner, one can put it in a portable mist for hydration on the go. Oh yes, for those who are too lazy to bring mask during your travels, you can simply pour Balance Natural Hot Spring Water onto a cotton pad if you don’t have any sheet mask paper and give your skin that extra boost of rejuvenation.

There are currently 4 different types of moisturisers available at Radium Medical Aesthetics. Dr Chloe has recommended me to the Self Defence Revital Day Crème ($98), a lightweight moisturizer that is packed with Coconut Oil and Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin elasticity and repairs the skin barrier. What I really like about this moisturiser is that it is really lightweight while providing the hydration that our skin needed. I find this very suitable for our topical climate and it is also suitable for guys who are looking at a moisturiser that is non-sticky and keep the skin supple and hydrated.

Sunscreen is a must have for my beauty regime and I really like how this lightweight Self Defence SPF 50+/PA+++ Sun Protection Lotion ($68) is so portable (30ml) and it is easy for me to bring it around to reapply as and when it is needed. Do you know that approximately 95% of the ultraviolet that reaches our skin is ultraviolet A (UVA) light while Ultraviolet B (UVB) rays which is the primary cause of sunburns only make up a smaller percentage?
Radium-21
Thus sun protection is very important as if you don’t want to subject yourself to the chronic effects of the UV such as photoaging, wrinkling, and age spots. Besides forming a shield against UV rays and urban aggressors, the Self Defence SPF 50+/PA+++ Sun Protection Lotion contains ingredients such as Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid to soothe and hydrate the skin. Best of all, it is paraben-free and is suitable for all skin types. Oh yes, remember to apply the sunscreen at least 15 minutes before sun exposure to allow it to sink into the skin to offer its optimal protection.

I realised that a lot of time, people around me are using only 1 moisturiser for day and night. However, I find that having a more potent moisturiser is very important as our skin is repairing and renewing while we are sleeping.

Thus, Dr Chloe has introduced me Ageless Night Repair Crème ($168) for my night moisturiser. Unlike other night crème, this is really like a little pot of gold in my honest opinion. During the beginning of my Sydney trip, I overlooked on the weather and used a moisturiser that was not moisturising enough for the dry and cold weather. In the end, I suffered from dry and peeling skin.

Ageless Night Repair Crème literally saved my face! After using it continuously for several days, my skin was no long peeling and a more youthful and radiant skin was revealed. I kid you not, half the time I was out without makeup. This one of a kind night crème is made up of a medley of Retinol, Radium® Triple Peptide Complex and Supportive Amino Acids and together with Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Phospholipids, Green Tea Extract, Vitamin C and Vitamin E to impregnate the skin with multiple layers of hydration while protecting the skin against environmental stressors. While it might sound very rich, I assure you that it doesn’t feel so upon application. Hence, this is currently one of my favourite night cream.
