Hip hip hooray! I am so so happy that a new dessert place, Nine Fresh Desserts, has just opened its door in that small cluster of my quiet neighborhood in Queenstown. Yup, I am a westie and the westie is happy to have a dessert place within walking distance.
After renovation for more than a month, Nine Fresh opened its door on 16 Dec 2015. Although it is a franchise outlet, the owner of this outlet has pumped in more than $100,000 into the renovation to give the consumers a cosy environment to enjoy their dessert. But can earn meh? The dessert per bowl has a price point from $2 to $3.50 only!
We ordered the Nine Fresh Signature($2.50) and Royal Aiyu Jelly($3.50). I kid you not, the toppings given was of very generous servings. My family and I have went back several times and were left satisfied each time. =)
For the Signature Dessert, it is a bowl of half beancurd and half grass jelly topped with ingredients such as green beans, red beans, taro balls, pinto beans and peanuts. There is even an option for the softer peanut or the ones with a harder texture! Nice! My friend even commented that the beancurd is one of the smoothest that he ever had. For me, I feel that it has a texture similar to 51 beancurb and laoban. 
Among the 2, my favourite was the Royal Aiyu Jelly as the aiyu has a very nice lingering taste of the black sugar. Those who have no idea what aiyu is. It is made from the seeds of a variety of fig found in Taiwan and East Asian countries. The texture of Aiyu is similar to our local ice jelly and in this case, it is perfume with the aroma of the black sugar. Yum yum. With red bean, green bean, barley, lotus nut, milk ball and taro balls, this made a wonderful dessert for our tropical weather!
My friend has commented that the portion was similar to the portion of the “small” size of a black ball dessert. But I find the serving of the dessert just nice for one person and I love the generous serving of the toppings. Best part is there is free wifi in the shop and the peeps behind the counter are also very friendly. OMG, this is really going to be my favourite hangout in my hood. Check them out if you are near Queensway ya.
