Being Singaporean, one of the most blessed thing is to enjoy good food around the island. In my opinion, there is no direct co-relation between food prices and its quality. One of the example is HamBaoBao at Bukit Timah Beauty World Food Centre. HamBaoBao means hamburger in Mandarin but over here some interesting burgers are served too.

| The Classic Beef ($4.50) |
In total, we ordered 3 burgers and we love all of them. Although the bun used is not any artisanal bun but I like the effort of spreading butter over it and lightly browned it over the grill. The Classic Beef burger has a very juicy beef patty topped with a slice of cheese, homemade tomato sauce, lettuce and caramelized onions. Very comforting on its own but I would suggest to go with the handcut fairy fries as the portion is not very big.

| That Dory Fish ($5) |
Simple as it looked, I was not impressed by the look of it until I sunk my teeth into the burger. The dory fish was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I am craving for it now while writing this review.

| Crispy Pork Belly ($4.50) |
This is yet another burger that tastes better than it looks. The highlight of this burger is the crispy pork belly that was topped with Japanese cucumber and wasabi mustard sauce. I have tried it on 2 occasions but sadly I feel that there is a slight consistency issue here. The first time I tried it, the pork belly was cooked just right with the pork skin crispy and meat tender. But the second time it was slightly too dry for my liking.
Hambaobao is operated by a young chinese couple who are both very passionate about what they are doing. The price tagged is easy on the pocket. Although there are limited choices of burgers available, they are quite well executed. Do give them a try and share with me if you like the burgers as much as I do.
