As the saying goes that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, during one of our food hunts in the morning, J and I discovered a coffeeshop that sells affordable breakfast sets that range from $3 to $3.50.
I am a huge fan of luncheon meat so I ordered this without a second thought. The set ($3) consisted of the above luncheon meat sandwich and a beverage which I ordered Teh xiu dai (milk tea with less sugar). I adore the softness of the bun which came as a surprise (to be honest, I didn’t have a very high expectation from a coffee shop stall that sells a variety of breakfast sets). The softness and texture of the bun is quite similiar to McDonald’s Fillet-O-Fish but the size is almost doubled. Topped with luncheon meat, scrambled egg and lettuce, it was a comforting and filling breakfast set for me.
While I was having the luncheon meat breakfast set, J ordered the usual egg and toast set ($3) which came with 2 soft boiled eggs, kaya toast and a drink. J ordered a iced milo for her set. Though there is nothing to shout about for this set, I feel that the price is relatively reasonable, given that a glass of iced milo would have set you back from $1.50 to $2 depending on where you are.
Besides the luncheon meat set and the toast set, there is mee siam and other breakfast sets available. Do check it out if you are around the vicinity. I have heard that the eggs benedict ($7.90) from char grill stall is cheap and good but I have yet to try. So I foresee myself going back to try the food soon.
