Just like we do not like to have bad breath, we do not want to smell bad down there as well. Any odour from down below might also be a signal of some nasty bacteria growth. Thus maintaining feminine hygiene is one of the essential and most intimate care for a lady’s overall health but more than often it is being neglected by many. There are tons of benefits for taking good care of this intimate area. Besides preventing odors, itching, and discomfort, bacterial infections can also be prevented. Hey ladies, this is very important ok. In severe cases, bacterial infections may lead to sterility, disease, cancer, and other health problems. So don’t play play. Today, I am going to share some tips on maintaining the good feminine hygiene.Â

Visit a gynecologist
Gynecologist? Yes, you heard me right. Though the visit to a gynecologist can be pretty daunting but it is recommended for maintaining good feminine hygiene. Besides giving advices on how to maintain the cleanliness of the vaginal area, the gynecologist can also recommend feminine hygiene products according to your specific pH level. Pap smear test is encouraged to be done every 3 years for women ages 21-65 and every 5 years for women age 30 and above. The gynecologist can check the vaginal area for anything out of the ordinary such as vaginal infections or sexually transmitted diseases and get them treated accordingly. Remove wet, sweaty bottom clothing
While exercise is a great way to keep fit, change out of your wet and sweaty attire as soon as possible. Bacteria multiply easily under such environment and might increase your likelihood of getting odors and infections! Avoid nylon and other synthetic fabrics undies if possible as it can reduce the air circulation around that area.  Choose panties made from a natural, breathable fabric such as cotton will reduce vaginal sweating.
P.S: Try not to wear new panties, shorts, pants, or other clothing bottoms before washing as they might have chemicals or dirt that are unseen to the eyes.Take a shower
Try to take a shower or at least change to a new set of clothings after your exercise regime. Washing your vaginal area with mild soap and water is recommended as harsh chemicals found in antibacterial or astringent soaps might cause irritation or infection. V-Mina Cleansing Mousse ($23.50) is a hygienic cleansing mousse with probiotic balance, tea tree extract and aloe vera that is suitable for daily regular use. The non-irritant cleansing mousse helps to maintain cleanlines while maintaining/ improving good micro-flora balance, preventing growth of bad micro-organisms and improving the pH to the ideal range. After washing, simply dry off immediately with a clean towel to prevent moisture build-up.
P.S: Wash your vaginal area after sexual intercourse is important as well. You do not want to suffer from any infection, irritation or odor for not removing the bodily fluids and residue from condoms and other intimate products, right?Toilet hygiene
Always wash your hands before going to the toilet as your hands are exposed to a lot of bacteria when you are in the public area. You do not wish to have germs  passing from your hands to your genital region, right? Wipe the outer surface of the vagina thoroughly after urination and from front to back after any bowel movement to prevent fecal from coming into contact with your vagina. This will help keep your vaginal area dry and clean throughout the day and eliminates the acrid scent of urine, sweat and natural discharge. Wiping it the opposite way can cause a urinary tract infection in the worst case scenario. Instead of using rough tissue paper, opt for wet wipes instead. V-Mina Cleansing Wipes (4-Packs – $10),a non-soap and non-irritant hygienic cleansing wipes with probiotic balance helps to keep the V-Area clean while hydrating the area with Hyaluronic Acid. This product is also suitable for use during menstruation.

Change them frequently.
Wearing sanitary products during menstruation over prolong period of time can cause foul odors and increase the risk of infection. Depending on the flow, it is recommended to change between every 3 to 6 hours and try to use products that do not contain scents or dyes. Any possible chemicals in these products can be harmful to your health.

Eat Well
A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains can help to prevent your body and vagina from experiencing infections or ailments. Curb spicy foods as well as asparagus and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables if you want to smell heavenly. Drink lots of water, pineapple juice and cranberry juice can make you smell better as well. So now you know that water, fruit and vegetables are really beneficial to us inside out!Chop it off
Bushy pubic hair traps sweat and drops of body secretions. Hence causing that unwanted odour. In order to have excellent feminine hygiene, it is recommended to shave or trim the pubic hair. With the advancement of technology, there are even ILP to let you go hairless. Not only does this aid in feminine hygiene, that hairless look might also make your bedroom actions more exciting!
