After feeding on the Word, it is also time to feed me some food. Off to W39 Bistro & Bakery for brunch on a beautiful Sunday!!
This place was not difficult to locate although it is tucked at the end of a stretch of shophouses. A lot of people apparently know what i discovered. The place was packed!! Had to join the queue.
Blessedly for me, the queue moved relatively fast and a table in their outdoor area was cleared. While waiting for food orders to arrive, i explored the inside of this food establishment which labelled itself as a casual dining place.
This is their Hearty Breakfast (S$13.50). It consisted of a salad, a sausage, diced mushrooms, bacon streaks, thick toasts and a double sunny side up. Rather gentle on the wallet for a food portion as such.
So how was it? Hmm.. the eggs (read: yolk) were a little too cooked for me as i prefer more runny versions and the salad was a tad too oily as well. However, the mushrooms were juicy and the bacon streaks were not overly greasy, much to my delight.
Their Eggs Benedict (S$9.00) seemed to be quite a hit with the patrons. Almost every occupied table had 1 of these; some bigger groups had a few of them. For me, the egg by itself was not too tasty. Would recommend to eat with the rest of the package. Oh, the hollandaise sauce also had a tinge of sour which seeped into part of the toast below.
Very simple art for this Cafe Mocha (S$4.90) to top off this meal.
I recommend placing a reservation in advance to avoid waiting for this is well sought after.
Maybe next time I will try my best to leave some space for the cakes here. They sure look tempting to me!
