Don’t you agree with me that music plays a huge part in your lives. Whether it’s the music that we listen to on the way to work, in the gym or in a symphony or film, it can brighten up our day or even make us feel moody. There are articles stating the health benefits that music provide to our lives. I am very lucky that last week I get to attend an event that opened my eyes to some incredible audio experiences.
The event started of with Mr Wong Yingming, Brand Activator of APAC Sports Headphones & Wearables and Harman Lifestyle, giving us an introduction of HARMAN International. Some of the brands under HARMAN include JBL, Harmon Kardon, Infinity, AKG, Yurbuds and Mark Levinson. I am amazed to find out that these brands have won over 144 awards over the past 2 1/2 years.
Part of HARMON credo is to get the design right. It is their ultimate goal to ensure that their products are consistently providing excellent performance, and are innovative and perfectly stylish.
As a noob to audio pleasure, I am surprised to find HARMAN products installed in many high end vehicles. No wonder I was kinda amazed by the sound system in the BMW that I drove in my recent Sydney trip. The music was crystal clear and made the whole road trip a much more enjoyable one.
If you have not looked close enough, first look at this chic Harman Kardon Esquire Mini will lead you to think that it is a hand clutch. But this is actually a wireless, portable speaker and conferencing system!

Ya I know my arms are not exactly small. But can you see the enjoyment I was experiencing while trying out this piece of gold? The dual foam ear cushions and ear cups mounted control also allow the user to enjoy a more crystal clear music without noise distortion. If I can, I would seriously want to own one of these babies.
Andy Tsui, Director of Product Planning & Strategy, Home & Multimedia, also shared with us about JBL. A name known by many for its precise and naturally articulated sound production. It can be found in clubs, cinemas, recording studios, live music reinforcement. But HARMAN has taken a step further by applying the expertise to portable sounds systems and audio system at home!
From an overview of the price range of JBL and its competitors, it is good to know that JBL portable sound systems are slightly cheaper. But does it mean that it is not as good?
I am assure you, it is definitely not that case. A sound demo was done with “X” brand, it was very clear that JBL wins hands down even when the “X” brand is a very reputable in the market. Besides being splashproof, JBL Charge 2+ is also an ultra powerful portable bluetooth speaker and portable battery. With a 6000mAh battery, it provides 12 hours of incredible audio pleasure and charges your devices via usb cable.
How cool is that!? I am so going to bring this to all pool side parties, bbq and for my impending bali trip at the end of the month!
