As we waited for the guests to arrive, there were props for us to take photograph to keep ourselves entertained.
The event started with Dr Ben sharing with us the 4 Ds of facial ageing – Deflation, Deterioration, Descent & Disproportion. As we age, the sign of ageing is inevitable. The signs of ageing includes a progressive loss of volume (muscle, fats & bone) on our faces just like what happens to a grape as it turns into a raisin.
The visible signs of skin deterioration often impact the way we look. Some of the factors that contributed to ageing are like smoking, diet, alcohol and UV lights. Although we can’t stop the ageing process but there are certain things that we can do to slow down the process such as applying sunblock or a change of lifestyle.
Decent of our skin refers to the progressive sagging occurring to the soft tissues of the face. In short, the loss of collagen and skin elasticity. Although the golden ratio of face is often being sought after, as we age, disproportion (out of balance of face) become more obvious with the loss of facial tissue.
Dr Ben further shared the triangle of youth and how we can regain our youth and maintain beautiful skin through aesthetics (botox and fillers). Aesthetics is not about changing our feature drastically, it is more of producing a more pleasing facial appearance through the enhancements of our own features.
There is also a case studies segment followed by a Q&A session after the sharing session. Just share a little bit of background about Dr Benjamin Yim. Besides being the Honorary Secretary of Society of Aesthetic Medicine (Singapore), he is also the appointed medicial trainer for Botox administration for
Allergan ( the distributor for BOTOX® Cosmetic, the only FDA-approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet in adults.). He was also awarded the long service award in appreciation of his contribution to youth delinquency.
After the talk and sharing session by Dr Ben, we were then treated to some light refreshments where the guests mingled and took more photographs.
We were also very lucky to
Jane Iredale’s trainer Ms Priscilla to share with us about Jane Iredale and live make up demonstration. Jane Iredale is founded in 1994 in US and is named after the founder. She was the first to supply to asethetic industry with a line of makeup that had skin care benefits. It is good to know that the foundations and concealers use pure mineral pigment with no fillers such as talc. Thus requires minimal touch-ups. The products are non-comedogenic and do not block pores. As skin health is the foundation of creating Jane Iredale makeup, the products are safety tested, allergy tested, clinically tested and dermatologist tested to ensure avoidance of any ingredients that may be skin sensitizers. Where preservatives are needed, a combination of natural preservatives is used, always excluding parabens and phenoxyethanol.

After the presentation and live make up demonstration from Ms Priscilla, light refreshments were served. The peeps from
Bake A Fuss has brought in some really delicious isaphan tarts. The 2 young sisters behind Bake A Fuss are professionally trained in 2 different pastry kitchens. They brought the baking skills back home and now they are sharing their love for baking to everybody.
I have always wanted to try juice cleansing but the tastes of many cold pressed juices have always made me ditching the idea. However at the event, we got to know more about
Juice Up and they taste really good. I was surprised to find even the juice with kale, spinach, romaine lettuce taste good. It is good to know that the cold pressed juices are pressed juices are 100% natural, raw and unpasturized. Yay to no added sugar syrup! The sweetness that I tasted in the vegetable juices is the natural sweetness from red apples!
At the end of the event, we brought home some awesome beauty products (Dr Ben Yim’s Hydrating Cleanser, Sunscreen SPF 50, Hydrating Mask & Jane Iredale’s Mineral Based Foundation, PureGloss Lip Gloss and Lip Drink SPF 15 Lip Balm) together with Bake A Fuss’s beautiful rainbow lollies. Review on the beauty products will be up very soon. Stay tuned. =)
Once again, Happy 15th Anniversary Dr Ben! Thank you for this eye opening opportunity where I learn more about ageing and how can we age gracefully with the help of aesthetics. Dr Ben once said the best part of his job is making people happy and beautiful. Indeed I am a living example of a confident, happy and more beautiful person under his magicial hands. Thank you Dr. Ben.
