When I was younger, catching up over high tea with my girlfriends was one of the activities that I often look forward to. L’Espresso at Goodwood Park Hotel was one of our choices for high tea. Well, they have very pretty teapots and serene ambience, don’t they?
When I have this opportunity to try the English Afternoon Tea Buffet, I acted on it immediately with J. Yes, the first thing I do was to “attack” the dessert line. The little cakes and bakes over here were so pretty and I can’t help it. Well, more than often I was already full before I reach the dessert area. Hence, I reckon that I should start from there. And who can resist the chocolate fondue, right?
It was quite a pleasant surprise to find a wider variety of dainty finger and open-face sandwiches as compared to my past experiences here.
There was also a good selection of cold delicatessen, cheese and condiments.
The option of hot food and carbs were satisfying too. Oh ya, don’t miss the scones. I was told by the restaurant manager that they are one of the best around. Do try it and share with me if you have the same sentiments.
You can also choose indoor air conditioned seating or poolside terrace area. Hahaha. Lucky for me and J, we went on a breezy afternoon and we managed to enjoy the beautiful pool view with a few ang moh occasionally swimming in the pool. From now till 14 August 2016, there is a 4-for-3 High Tea Promotion at Coffee Lounge and L’Espresso. One adult or child dines free for every three paying adults during this limited period.
